KK Kozuv claimed a statement road win in the Macedonian First League, defeating KK Madzari 101-95 in a high-paced, entertaining contest that produced nearly 200 points and was decided in the closing minutes. Kozuv's superior shot-making and late-game execution proved the difference in a game where neither defence ever fully managed to slow the opposing offence.

Match Overview

Madzari came out firing in front of their home crowd, attacking the basket with purpose and getting into an early rhythm from beyond the arc. The hosts pushed the tempo at every opportunity, and for much of the first half it looked as though their willingness to trade baskets might pay off. Kozuv, however, matched them shot for shot, refusing to let the game slip into a double-digit deficit.

The second quarter produced the game's most entertaining stretch, with both teams scoring freely and the lead changing hands repeatedly. By halftime, the contest was finely balanced, and the sense was that whichever team tightened up defensively first would take control.

How the Game Was Won

Neither side managed to build a decisive cushion through three quarters. Madzari kept finding answers through their interior scoring and offensive rebounding, while Kozuv relied on efficient perimeter shooting and intelligent ball movement to keep pace.

The fourth quarter was where Kozuv finally separated. A sequence of well-executed possessions — a corner three, a mid-range pull-up and a pair of free throws after an offensive rebound — pushed the visitors ahead by two possessions with under three minutes remaining. Madzari responded, but Kozuv's composure at the line in the final minute sealed the win and denied the hosts any late comeback.

Tactical Story

This was a game defined by offence. Kozuv's spacing was excellent throughout, creating open looks for their shooters and forcing Madzari into repeated defensive rotations. Their pick-and-roll game generated consistent advantages, and when Madzari switched, Kozuv punished the mismatch inside.

Madzari's approach was more physical. They dominated stretches on the offensive glass and generated second-chance points that kept them in front during the middle quarters. Their weakness was on the defensive end, where they struggled to contain dribble penetration and gave up too many open looks from the perimeter. In a game decided by six points, those extra possessions proved decisive.

Standout Performers

• Kozuv's perimeter corps: Delivered the clutch shooting that swung the game in the final quarter.
• Kozuv's playmaker: Controlled the pace and consistently found the open man against pressure defence.
• Madzari's frontcourt: Dominated the offensive glass and provided reliable interior scoring all night.
• Madzari's guards: Aggressive going downhill, but unable to slow Kozuv at the other end.

What It Means

For KK Kozuv, this is exactly the type of road result that builds momentum in the Macedonian First League. Winning away from home in a shootout, against a team that shot the ball well for long stretches, says a great deal about their maturity and their ability to execute under pressure.

KK Madzari leave the game with plenty to build on. Their offence functioned well and they competed for all four quarters, but tightening up defensively will be the priority if they are to convert these competitive performances into wins. In a league where home form matters, dropping this one will be frustrating — yet the overall display suggests they will be a difficult opponent for anyone visiting their arena this season.
