Real Sebastiani Rieti secured a valuable road win in the Lega Nazionale Pallacanestro Serie A2, defeating MiroRadici Finance Vigevano 78–64 in a game built on defensive control and patient half-court execution.

The visitors led for the majority of the evening, absorbing an early Vigevano push before steadily taking command and never allowing the home side back into a genuine contest.

Match Overview

• Final score: MiroRadici Finance Vigevano 64, Real Sebastiani Rieti 78
• Competition: Lega Nazionale Pallacanestro Serie A2
• Date: 4 October 2026
• Venue: Home court, Vigevano

Vigevano started brightly, feeding off home support and attacking the rim with purpose. But Rieti weathered the opening storm, tightened their defense, and gradually turned the game into a grind — the kind of low-scoring, physical contest that suits their roster.

Key Moments

The turning point came late in the first half, when Rieti closed the second quarter with a run that flipped a small deficit into a lead they would never surrender. A pair of three-pointers plus a steal-and-score shifted the momentum and forced Vigevano into a timeout that did little to change the trajectory.

In the third quarter, Rieti extended their advantage by attacking the paint and drawing fouls, while Vigevano's offense became increasingly reliant on difficult perimeter shots. The final period was managed expertly by the visitors, who slowed the tempo and protected their lead at the free-throw line.

Tactical Story

Rieti's defensive discipline was the defining feature of the win. They limited Vigevano's transition opportunities, closed out hard on shooters, and forced the home side into contested looks late in the shot clock. On the boards, their frontcourt held firm, denying second-chance points that could have shifted momentum.

Offensively, Rieti played through their big men and used ball screens to create mismatches, mixing inside scoring with timely perimeter shooting. Vigevano, meanwhile, struggled with turnovers and a stagnant half-court attack that produced too few open shots.

Standout Performers

Rieti's scoring load was shared across the rotation, with their guards controlling pace and their forwards productive around the rim. The bench delivered important minutes, particularly during the second-quarter run that changed the game.

For Vigevano, effort was never in question — their guards competed hard on both ends and generated several steals — but the shooting woes and a difficult night on the glass left them chasing the scoreboard from the second quarter onward.

Season Impact

For Real Sebastiani Rieti, winning on the road in Serie A2 is a marker of a team with genuine ambitions. Results like this accumulate quietly and matter enormously when the promotion race tightens in the spring.

MiroRadici Finance Vigevano will view the defeat as a missed home opportunity, and will be focused on improving their half-court efficiency before the next round of fixtures.
