Rimini Run Away From Real Sebastiani Rieti in 96-73 Serie A2 Win

Edilizia Moderna Rimini produced a high-scoring 96-73 home victory over Real Sebastiani Rieti in Lega Nazionale Pallacanestro Serie A2 on 26 October 2026. Rimini’s offense clicked from the opening quarter, and a series of sustained runs turned the game into a comfortable win.

Match overview

Rimini came out with aggressive intent, pushing the ball in transition and attacking the paint before Rieti’s defense could settle. The home side’s ball movement was sharp, creating open perimeter looks and second-chance opportunities. Rieti tried to keep pace early, but Rimini’s scoring depth made it difficult for the visitors to match basket for basket.

By halftime, Rimini had established a clear advantage. The third quarter proved decisive, as Rimini opened with another surge and quickly pushed the lead beyond reach. Rieti continued to compete, but Rimini’s efficiency and control of the tempo kept the visitors from mounting any serious comeback. The 96-point output was the standout feature of the night.

Key moments

The game’s turning point came in the first half, when Rimini used a double-digit run to break open a competitive opening period. The burst featured transition baskets, an offensive rebound put-back, and a three-pointer that forced Rieti into a timeout. From that point on, Rimini played with confidence and rhythm.

The third quarter removed any doubt. Rimini opened the half with a run that stretched the margin to more than 20 points, with their guards finding gaps in Rieti’s defense and their big men finishing around the rim. Rieti had brief responses from the perimeter, but Rimini’s defensive pressure and rebounding prevented the visitors from building any momentum.

Tactical story

Rimini’s offense was built on quick decisions and unselfish passing. They moved the ball from side to side, attacked closeouts, and made the extra pass when Rieti’s defense rotated. That approach produced a balanced scoring effort and kept Rieti from focusing on one primary threat. Rimini also dominated in transition, turning defensive rebounds into easy points.

Rieti’s defensive problems were compounded by foul trouble and difficulty containing penetration. When they helped inside, Rimini made the kick-out pass; when they stayed on the perimeter, Rimini attacked the rim. Offensively, Rieti had some success in the half-court but could not match Rimini’s pace or shooting efficiency over four quarters.

Standout performers

Rimini’s backcourt dictated the tempo and consistently found ways into the paint, while the wing rotation knocked down timely shots and defended with energy. The frontcourt controlled the glass and finished well around the basket. Rieti’s guards competed and produced some good individual moments, but the visitors lacked the collective defensive response needed to slow Rimini’s offense.

Season impact

The 23-point win is a significant confidence boost for Rimini in the Serie A2 standings and a clear head-to-head result against Real Sebastiani Rieti. It shows that Rimini can win in different ways, but especially when their transition game and ball movement are clicking. Rieti will need to tighten their perimeter defense and rebounding after a difficult road night, while Rimini will look to carry the offensive rhythm into their next fixtures.
