PMS Torino claimed a hard-fought road victory in Lega Nazionale Pallacanestro Serie A2, defeating Carmatic Pistoia 84-77. In a game that stayed close into the final minutes, Torino's late-game execution — better shot selection and reliable free-throw shooting — proved the difference in a competitive, physical contest.

Match overview

Serie A2 games between these two clubs tend to be tight, and this one followed the pattern. Pistoia attacked early behind their home crowd, using energy and offensive rebounding to stay in front through the opening quarter. Torino responded with patience, working the ball inside-out and gradually dragging the game back to level ground before halftime.

How the game turned

The fourth quarter decided it. With the scoreline tight, Torino found a higher gear defensively, forcing Pistoia into rushed attempts late in the shot clock. At the other end, they attacked the basket with purpose, converting several and-one opportunities that shifted the momentum for good.

• Fourth-quarter defence: Torino limited Pistoia's clean looks in the closing minutes.
• Free-throw edge: The visitors' accuracy from the line in the final stretch proved decisive.
• Bench contribution: Torino's reserves provided a scoring spark when the starters needed a breather.

Standout performers

Torino's backcourt dictated the pace, combining composed ball-handling with timely shot-making, while their big men competed on the glass against a physical Pistoia frontcourt. For the hosts, the scoring was spread across the rotation, but the team lacked a reliable answer in the final three minutes when the game demanded a go-to play.

What it means

Road wins in Serie A2 are worth their weight in gold, and Torino leave Tuscany with both the points and a psychological edge. Pistoia, meanwhile, are left to reflect on a game they were in for 37 minutes but could not close — a recurring theme that can define a season in a league where the margins are razor thin.
