Avellino Basket Roll Past Fulgor Libertas Forli 94-81

Avellino Basket produced their most complete offensive performance of the young Lega Nazionale Pallacanestro Serie A2 season, defeating Fulgor Libertas Forli 94-81 behind a balanced attack and a decisive run in the second half. The 13-point margin reflects a game Avellino controlled from the middle of the second quarter onward, with Forli unable to find a consistent answer on the defensive end.

The victory gives Avellino a confidence-building home result and reinforces their reputation as one of the more dangerous offensive teams in the division. Forli, meanwhile, will look at a stretch of defensive breakdowns as the main reason they leave without a result.

Match Overview

Forli started brightly, knocking down perimeter shots and attacking the paint with purpose. Their ball movement early on created open looks, and for the first eight minutes the game looked like it would be a high-scoring duel.

Avellino responded by tightening their defense and pushing the tempo. Once they began stringing together stops, the game tilted. Transition points came in waves, and by halftime Avellino had established a lead they never surrendered.

Key Moments

• Second-quarter surge: Avellino closed the first half with a double-digit run, turning a close game into a comfortable lead.
• Third-quarter knockout: A quick burst to start the second half pushed the margin toward 20, forcing Forli into catch-up mode.
• Forli's late push: Back-to-back three-pointers trimmed the deficit in the fourth, but Avellino answered immediately with an and-one and a steal.
• Bench contribution: Avellino's reserves maintained the intensity and scoring output, ensuring no drop-off when the starters rested.

Tactical Story

Avellino's offensive efficiency came from spacing and unselfishness. They moved the ball quickly, attacked closeouts and generated high-percentage shots both inside and beyond the arc. Defensively, they switched aggressively and used their athleticism to disrupt Forli's rhythm, forcing difficult attempts late in the shot clock.

Forli's offense was at its best when it played inside-out, drawing help defense and kicking to shooters. But turnovers and defensive rebounding problems gave Avellino extra possessions, and against a team scoring at this rate, those extra chances were fatal.

Standout Performers

Avellino's scoring was spread across the rotation, with multiple players reaching double figures, a hallmark of a team that does not depend on a single star. Their point guard controlled the pace and consistently found the right pass in pick-and-roll situations. Forli's leading scorer had a productive night, but the supporting cast struggled to match Avellino's efficiency.

What It Means for the Season

A 94-point outing at home signals that Avellino have the firepower to compete near the top of Serie A2, provided their defensive consistency holds. For Forli, the priority is tightening the defensive rotations that allowed so many open looks. Both clubs will face stiffer tests soon, but this result is a clear marker of where each team stands early in the campaign.
