Match Overview

The game followed a tight, physical script for three quarters before Abejas de León finally created separation in the last five minutes. Mineros de Zacatecas leaned on their home crowd and an early rhythm inside the paint, but the visitors answered every run with timely three-point shooting and disciplined half-court execution.

Quarter by quarter, the game stayed within a couple of possessions: 22-18 to León after the first, Zacatecas responding to pull level at halftime, and the Abejas edging ahead again in the third before pulling away late. The result lifts León's road record and leaves Mineros searching for answers in close games.

Key Moments

The decisive stretch came midway through the fourth quarter. With the score tied and the Zacatecas crowd at its loudest, Abejas de León strung together a 9-0 run built on a corner three, a transition layup off a steal, and two free throws after an offensive rebound. Mineros never recovered the momentum.

Earlier, Zacatecas had threatened to break the game open in the second quarter, using a 10-2 burst to erase an early deficit. But León's bench provided instant offense, and a buzzer-beating jumper before halftime swung the mood back in the visitors' favor.

Tactical Story

Abejas de León won this game with defense and patience. They switched aggressively on screens, forced Mineros into contested mid-range looks, and closed down the paint in the final period. Offensively, León spread the floor with four shooters around a mobile big man, which pulled Zacatecas's interior defenders away from the rim and opened driving lanes.

Mineros de Zacatecas, by contrast, relied heavily on isolation play and second-chance points. That approach kept them close but left them vulnerable when León's help defense arrived on time. Zacatecas also struggled from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter, leaving points on the board at the worst possible moment.

Standout Performers

León's backcourt set the tone, combining for a steady stream of assists and timely buckets, while their starting center anchored the defense with rebounds and altered shots. Mineros got a strong individual effort from their leading scorer, who kept the hosts within reach through three quarters, but the supporting cast went cold in the closing minutes.

• Player of the game: Abejas de León's lead guard, who controlled tempo and hit the biggest shot of the night
• Key stat: León's fourth-quarter run and rebounding edge on the offensive glass
• Turning point: The 9-0 surge that turned a tie game into a two-possession León lead

What It Means in the LNBP Standings

This result matters in a crowded LNBP table where every road win is worth double. Abejas de León add a valuable victory to their resume and gain momentum heading into the next round of fixtures. Mineros de Zacatecas, meanwhile, miss a chance to gain ground at home and will need to correct their late-game execution to stay in the postseason conversation.

Looking Ahead

Abejas de León return home looking to build on a road win that showed their defensive identity. Mineros de Zacatecas hit the road with a clear task: tighten their half-court offense and find reliable scoring options when the game slows down. In a league as competitive as the LNBP, the difference between a playoff seed and an early exit often comes down to exactly these kinds of four-point swings.
