Fuerza Regia continued their strong form in the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional with a hard-fought 101-90 victory over Dorados de Chihuahua at the Gimnasio Nuevo León Unido in Monterrey. The hosts pulled away in the second half behind balanced scoring and a decisive run in the third quarter, improving their position in the LNBP standings while handing the visiting Dorados another difficult road result.

Match Overview

From the opening tip, Fuerza Regia looked the more settled side, moving the ball patiently and attacking the paint with purpose. Dorados de Chihuahua stayed within striking distance through the first half thanks to efficient perimeter shooting and a handful of second-chance points, but they never managed to fully contain Monterrey's half-court execution. The home side's defensive intensity rose after the break, and the game tilted decisively in their favor.

The final scoreline of 101-90 slightly flatters the visitors, who trailed by double digits for much of the fourth quarter. Fuerza Regia's ability to score at all three levels — transition layups, mid-range pull-ups and open three-point looks — proved the difference in a contest that was competitive for 30 minutes before the hosts took control.

Quarter-by-Quarter Breakdown

• First quarter (26-22 Fuerza Regia): A fast, free-flowing start with both teams shooting well from the field. Fuerza Regia established the tempo early.
• Second quarter (24-21 Fuerza Regia): Monterrey nudged the lead to seven at the break with a late flurry before halftime.
• Third quarter (27-23 Fuerza Regia): The decisive stretch. A 12-2 run midway through the period broke the game open and forced Dorados into timeout.
• Fourth quarter (24-24): Dorados kept competing and trimmed the deficit briefly, but Fuerza Regia managed the clock and closed out comfortably from the free-throw line.

Key Moments

The turning point arrived in the third quarter. With Fuerza Regia leading by six, a steal at midcourt led to an and-one in transition, sparking the home crowd and stretching the advantage into double figures. Dorados responded with a pair of three-pointers to keep their hopes alive, but Monterrey's defensive rotations improved noticeably in the final 15 minutes, contesting shots and forcing several late-clock attempts.

In the closing minutes, Fuerza Regia's discipline at the free-throw line and their control of the defensive glass removed any chance of a comeback. Dorados were forced to foul repeatedly, and the hosts converted enough of those opportunities to keep the margin comfortable.

Tactical Story

Fuerza Regia's game plan centered on pace and interior pressure. By pushing the ball in transition after defensive rebounds, they avoided allowing Dorados to set their half-court defense. Monterrey also attacked the rim aggressively, drawing fouls and creating open looks on the kick-out when the defense collapsed.

Dorados de Chihuahua, by contrast, relied heavily on perimeter shooting and isolation play. When those shots stopped falling in the third quarter, their offense stagnated. Their rebounding effort was solid but not enough to offset a significant free-throw disparity and a series of costly turnovers in the second half.

Standout Performers

• Fuerza Regia: A balanced scoring night with multiple players in double figures, anchored by strong guard play and an efficient interior presence on the boards.
• Dorados de Chihuahua: Their leading scorer kept the visitors in the game through the first half, while their frontcourt battled hard on the glass despite the size disadvantage.

Standings and Season Impact

The win strengthens Fuerza Regia's position among the LNBP's top contenders and reinforces their reputation as one of the league's most consistent home teams. For Dorados de Chihuahua, the loss highlights the gap between competing hard and closing out games against elite opposition — a theme they will need to address as the season progresses.

Fuerza Regia now turn their attention to the next fixture on the calendar with confidence, while Dorados will look to regroup on home soil and rediscover the shooting form that kept this game close for three quarters.
