Fuerza Regia held off a determined Dorados de Chihuahua side to claim an 80-76 victory in Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional action on October 20, 2026. In a game that remained tight deep into the fourth quarter, Fuerza Regia’s composure at both ends made the difference down the stretch.

The result was not as comfortable as the final margin might suggest. Dorados de Chihuahua stayed within striking distance throughout, answering several Fuerza Regia runs with timely baskets of their own. The contest developed into a tactical battle, with neither team able to pull away until the final minutes.

Match overview

Fuerza Regia started with good energy, using ball movement and active hands on defense to build an early advantage. Dorados, however, refused to let the game slip away. They settled into their half-court offense, attacked the paint and kept the score close through the first half.

The third quarter brought a series of momentum swings. Fuerza Regia briefly looked ready to take control, but Dorados answered with outside shooting and offensive rebounds. Entering the final period, the game was still very much in the balance, setting up a tense finish in front of the home crowd.

In the closing minutes, Fuerza Regia executed better. They slowed the tempo, worked the ball into high-percentage areas and made the defensive stops that had been difficult to come by earlier. Dorados had chances to tie or take the lead, but a few empty possessions proved costly.

Key moments

• Early Fuerza Regia run: The home side used defensive pressure to create transition points and build an early cushion.
• Dorados response: Chihuahua answered with a balanced scoring stretch, keeping the game close into halftime.
• Fourth-quarter execution: Fuerza Regia converted key possessions in the final five minutes while forcing Dorados into tougher shots.
• Late free throws: Composure at the line helped Fuerza Regia protect the lead in the final seconds.

Tactical story

Fuerza Regia’s half-court defense was the foundation of the win. They contested perimeter shots, rotated well on help defense and made Dorados work deep into the shot clock. Offensively, Fuerza Regia were at their best when they moved the ball side to side and attacked after the defense shifted.

Dorados de Chihuahua deserve credit for their resilience. They matched Fuerza Regia’s physicality for long stretches and found ways to score when the primary options were taken away. The difference was efficiency in the biggest moments: Fuerza Regia converted more of their late-game possessions, while Dorados were left chasing.

Standout performers

Fuerza Regia’s backcourt managed the game well, particularly in the fourth quarter. The team’s interior players provided a steady presence on the glass and defended without fouling in critical situations. The bench also gave valuable minutes, helping Fuerza Regia maintain energy during a physically demanding contest.

For Dorados, the loss will sting because so much of the game went according to plan. They competed on the road, kept the score close and gave themselves a chance late. What they lacked was one final scoring burst or one extra defensive stop when Fuerza Regia needed to be stopped.

Season impact

The 80-76 win is an important result for Fuerza Regia in the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional standings. Tight victories against quality opponents often define a season, and this one adds both confidence and momentum. It also reinforces Fuerza Regia’s ability to win in different styles, whether by controlling tempo or grinding out a late defensive stand.

Dorados de Chihuahua leave with a narrow loss but not a damaging performance. Their competitiveness against Fuerza Regia suggests they can remain dangerous in the playoff race. Still, in a league where every possession matters, the missed opportunities in the final minutes are the ones they will review most closely.
