Municipal Galati vs CSM Oradea — CSM Oradea produced a commanding road performance in the Liga Nationala de Baschet Masculin on October 3, 2026, defeating Municipal Galati 101-74. The 27-point victory underlined Oradea's status as one of the league's most dangerous offensive teams, while Galati were left to reflect on a defensive night that slipped away early.

Match Overview

From the opening tip, CSM Oradea imposed their rhythm. The visitors moved the ball with purpose, attacked the paint, and punished Galati from beyond the arc. By the end of the first quarter, Oradea had established a 28-22 lead, and they never surrendered control. The second quarter followed a similar pattern: Oradea's bench contributed energy and scoring, helping the team take a 53-40 advantage into halftime.

The third quarter was where the game truly broke open. Oradea outscored Municipal Galati 26-19, pushing the margin past 20 points. Galati tried to respond with a more aggressive half-court defense, but Oradea's ball movement and transition offense proved too fluid. The final period was largely academic, with Oradea managing the clock and sealing a convincing 101-74 win.

Key Moments

• First-quarter surge: Oradea opened with a 10-2 run, setting the tone for the night.
• Halftime cushion: A late three-pointer before the break gave Oradea a 13-point lead, their largest of the first half.
• Third-quarter knockout: A 12-0 run midway through the third quarter turned a competitive game into a rout.
• Garbage-time execution: Oradea's reserves maintained the intensity, showing the team's depth.

Standout Performances

CSM Oradea's balanced scoring was the story. Their backcourt combined for 45 points, consistently breaking down Galati's defense off the dribble. The frontcourt also controlled the boards, limiting Galati to few second-chance opportunities. For Municipal Galati, the effort was there, but cold shooting nights from the perimeter and a handful of turnovers at critical moments prevented any sustained comeback. Their leading scorer finished with a respectable total, but it was not enough to counter Oradea's firepower.

Season Impact and Standings

For CSM Oradea, this result strengthens their position in the upper half of the Liga Nationala de Baschet Masculin standings. A road win of this magnitude boosts confidence and point differential, which can be crucial in tiebreakers. Municipal Galati, meanwhile, will need to regroup quickly. The loss highlights areas for improvement, particularly defensive rotations and rebounding discipline. With the season still young, there is time to correct course, but the gap between the league's elite and the chasing pack was clear on this night.

What's Next

CSM Oradea will look to carry this momentum into their next fixture, while Municipal Galati face a crucial stretch to stabilize their campaign. Both teams will continue their Liga Nationala de Baschet Masculin schedules, with fans eager to see if Oradea can sustain their scoring form and whether Galati can bounce back at home.
