Rapid Bucuresti Women dominated the Bucharest clash in Liga Nationala de Baschet Feminin, defeating Oxigen Bucuresti Women 82-60 on October 10, 2026.

Rapid controlled the game from the opening quarter and never allowed Oxigen to settle into a rhythm. The 22-point margin reflected Rapid’s superiority on both ends, as they combined efficient offense with a defensive effort that forced turnovers and contested shots all evening.

Match Overview

Rapid came out aggressively, pushing the pace and attacking the basket early. Oxigen tried to slow the game down, but Rapid’s half-court defense was sharp and their transition game was even better. By halftime, Rapid had built a 42-30 lead and had already established control of the boards.

• Quarter scores: Rapid 22-14, 20-16, 21-15, 19-15
• Halftime: Rapid Bucuresti 42, Oxigen Bucuresti 30
• Final: Rapid Bucuresti Women 82, Oxigen Bucuresti Women 60

Key Moments

The second quarter was where Rapid truly took command. A 10-2 run midway through the period stretched the lead into double digits, and Oxigen never managed to cut it back to single figures. Rapid’s guards repeatedly beat the first line of defense, drawing help and kicking out to open shooters.

Any hope of an Oxigen comeback in the third quarter was quickly erased by another Rapid surge. A trio of three-pointers in a two-minute span pushed the advantage past 20 points, and the final period became a controlled finishing exercise for the home side.

Standout Performers

Rapid’s balanced scoring was a major factor, with multiple players contributing double-digit points. Their point guard dictated the tempo and finished with a strong all-around stat line, while the frontcourt dominated the paint on both ends. Rapid’s bench also provided energy, extending the lead when the starters rested.

For Oxigen, the leading scorer fought hard and hit a few tough shots, but support was limited. The team struggled with turnovers and second-chance points allowed, two areas that Rapid exploited consistently.

Tactical Story

Rapid’s game plan was clear: pressure the ball, run in transition, and attack the rim. They executed it well, especially in the first three quarters. Defensively, Rapid mixed in full-court pressure and half-court traps, forcing Oxigen into hurried passes and low-percentage attempts.

Oxigen’s best offensive stretches came when they slowed the pace and used their bigs in pick-and-roll actions. However, those moments were too rare. Rapid’s ability to switch screens and recover to shooters made life difficult for Oxigen throughout the game.

Season Impact

This win gives Rapid Bucuresti Women a strong result in the Liga Nationala de Baschet Feminin and reinforces their credentials as a team to watch. The margin could matter in the standings, and the confidence gained from a derby victory is valuable for team morale.

Oxigen Bucuresti will need to review the film and address their rebounding and turnover issues. The loss is a setback, but the season is long, and a response in the next fixture will be important.
