The halftime score of 32-34 reflected just how tight the game was. LMK’s second-quarter surge, fueled by aggressive defense and transition baskets, gave them a lead they would never fully surrender.

Key Moments

Trailing 20-14 after the first quarter, LMK responded with a dominant second period. They held Oxigen to just 12 points while scoring 20 of their own, turning a six-point deficit into a two-point halftime lead. The run was sparked by a full-court press that forced several turnovers and led to easy layups.

In the fourth quarter, Oxigen fought back and tied the game at 58-58 with just over three minutes remaining. However, LMK’s experienced guards remained calm. They drew fouls on consecutive possessions and converted four straight free throws to regain a lead they would not lose. A critical offensive rebound in the final minute allowed LMK to run down the clock and seal the 67-63 win.

Tactical Story

LMK’s defensive adaptability was the key tactical story. After a slow start, they switched from a man-to-man defense to a zone press that disrupted Oxigen’s half-court rhythm. The change forced Oxigen into long possessions and contested jump shots, limiting their scoring efficiency.

Offensively, LMK relied on balanced scoring and offensive rebounding. They attacked the basket with purpose, drawing fouls and getting to the free-throw line in crucial moments. Oxigen, meanwhile, shot the ball well early but struggled with turnovers in the second quarter. Their half-court offense became predictable late in the game, and they could not generate enough clean looks against LMK’s set defense.

Standout Players

LMK’s backcourt led the way, combining for steady ball-handling and timely scoring. Their center was a force on the boards, grabbing several key offensive rebounds and altering shots at the rim. The team’s leading scorer finished with a game-high total, including clutch free throws in the final minute.

For Oxigen Bucuresti Women, their shooting guard kept them in the game with accurate perimeter shooting, while their forward battled hard inside. Despite the loss, Oxigen showed resilience and defensive intensity that will serve them well in the Romanian women’s league.

Standings and Season Impact

This road win is a significant boost for LMK SBC SF. Gheorghe Women in the Liga Nationala de Baschet Feminin standings. Winning away from home in such a tight contest builds confidence and reinforces their playoff credentials.

Oxigen Bucuresti Women will be disappointed to lose a game they led after the first quarter, but the narrow margin suggests they can compete with the league’s top teams. Both sides will look to build on this performance as the season unfolds.
