Nancy hosted Paris in the Ligue Nationale de Basket Pro A on September 27, 2026, with Paris claiming a hard-fought 78-73 road win. The game was close throughout and featured several lead changes, but Paris made the bigger plays in the final three minutes to secure the victory. Nancy fought hard in front of their home crowd, but they were left to rue missed opportunities late in the fourth quarter.

Match Overview

Paris started brightly and held a 22-19 lead after the first quarter, using quick ball movement and aggressive drives. Nancy responded in the second quarter, tying the game multiple times before Paris took a 42-38 advantage into halftime. The third quarter remained tight, with neither team able to pull away. In the fourth, Nancy cut the deficit to one possession several times, but Paris answered with timely three-pointers and free throws to close out the 78-73 win.

The result is an important early-season road victory for Paris in the Ligue Nationale de Basket Pro A, while Nancy will feel they let a winnable game slip away.

Key Moments

• Opening pace: Paris scored the first five points and forced Nancy into two early turnovers.
• Second-quarter response: Nancy used an 8-0 run to tie the game at 30-30, energizing the home crowd.
• Third-quarter battle: The lead changed hands six times, with neither side able to build a cushion.
• Clutch finish: Paris closed the game with a 9-2 run, capped by a contested three-pointer and two free throws.

Tactical Story

Paris relied on its guard play to break down Nancy’s defense. Their pick-and-roll action created mismatches, and when Nancy helped in the paint, Paris found open shooters on the perimeter. Defensively, Paris switched between man-to-man and a compact zone, which disrupted Nancy’s rhythm in the half court. Nancy had success inside, particularly with their forwards attacking the offensive glass, but they struggled to convert from beyond the arc. In the final minutes, Paris’ ability to protect the ball and make free throws proved decisive.

Standout Players

Paris’ combo guard was the standout performer, scoring key baskets in the fourth quarter and finishing with a team-high total. Their center controlled the defensive glass and altered several shots at the rim. A wing player also contributed important points off the bench. For Nancy, their power forward led the way with a strong inside-out scoring display, while their point guard did a good job creating opportunities. However, Paris’ late-game execution and balanced scoring were too much to overcome.

Season Impact

The 78-73 win gives Paris a valuable road result in the Ligue Nationale de Basket Pro A and strengthens their position in the early standings. It also demonstrates their ability to win close games away from home, which is often a marker of a serious contender. Nancy will need to improve their late-game decision-making and perimeter shooting, but there were positives in their defensive effort and interior play. The head-to-head result may prove important if both teams are competing for similar playoff positions later in the season.
