Key moments

The game’s decisive stretch came in the first half. After Rokiskis briefly trimmed the deficit to seven points early in the second quarter, Siauliai responded with a 10-0 run. That burst featured back-to-back steals that led to fast-break layups, followed by an open three-pointer from the wing. The run pushed the lead to 17 and effectively ended Rokiskis’s hopes of staying close.

Siauliai maintained their intensity in the third quarter, opening with a 7-0 run that extended the margin beyond 20 points. Rokiskis tried to answer with three-point shooting, but Siauliai’s closeouts were quick and disciplined. By the time the fourth quarter began, the hosts were able to rest their starters and give valuable minutes to younger players.

Tactical story

Siauliai’s victory was built on defense and pace. Their full-court pressure disrupted Rokiskis’s offensive rhythm, leading to numerous turnovers and easy transition baskets. On offense, Siauliai shared the ball well, recording assists on a high percentage of their made field goals. They also dominated the rebounding battle, which limited Rokiskis to very few second-chance opportunities.

Rokiskis struggled to handle Siauliai’s speed. Their half-court offense often began late in the shot clock, forcing difficult attempts. When they did find open looks, they shot a respectable percentage from the perimeter, but the volume of turnovers and defensive rebounds conceded proved too costly. Siauliai’s ability to score in waves turned a competitive first few minutes into a one-sided affair.

Standout performers

Siauliai’s guards were the engine of the offense, pushing the ball in transition and finding open teammates. Their leading scorer combined accurate outside shooting with aggressive drives to the rim. Inside, Siauliai’s forwards controlled the boards and finished efficiently around the basket. The bench also contributed meaningful minutes, showing the depth that makes Siauliai a difficult matchup in the Lithuanian Women’s Basketball League.

For Rokiskis, the performance was challenging, but a few players stood out. Their shooting guard hit several contested three-pointers and kept competing until the final whistle. The young point guard gained valuable experience against pressure defense, and the team’s rebounding effort in the second half improved. Rokiskis will need to build on those small positives in their next game.

League standings impact

This 98-69 win strengthens Siauliu Siauliai’s position in the Lithuanian Women’s Basketball League standings. The large margin also helps their point differential, which can matter in tiebreaker scenarios. Siauliai showed they can win convincingly at home, and their balanced scoring makes them a threat against any opponent.

Rokiskis W leave with a tough loss, but the game provides clear areas for improvement: ball security, defensive transition, and rebounding. In a long season, response matters more than any single result. Siauliai, meanwhile, will look to carry this momentum forward and continue their push near the top of the table.
