Rokiskis W produced a composed and clinical display in the Lithuanian Women's Basketball League, defeating Aistes LSMU (W) 81-65 on October 11, 2026. A 16-point margin built on disciplined defense, efficient interior scoring and a strong third-quarter surge gave the hosts a deserved win in front of their home supporters.

Match Overview

The opening quarter was a cagey affair, with both teams trading baskets and probing for weaknesses. Rokiskis gradually established a foothold through patient offensive sets and aggressive rebounding, while Aistes LSMU kept pace with accurate perimeter shooting and quick ball movement.

The contest tilted decisively after halftime. Rokiskis tightened their defense, closed off driving lanes and forced Aistes into difficult, contested attempts. At the other end, the hosts found a reliable scoring rhythm that stretched the lead into double figures, and they managed the closing minutes with maturity to close out the 81-65 victory.

Key Moments

• First quarter: A balanced, low-margin opening as both sides tested each other's defenses and shot well from the field.
• Second quarter: Rokiskis edged ahead with a run powered by offensive rebounds and second-chance points, forcing Aistes into an adjustment.
• Third quarter: The game-breaking stretch — a sustained defensive effort from the hosts limited Aistes to a low-scoring period while Rokiskis converted repeatedly in transition.
• Fourth quarter: Rokiskis controlled the tempo, protected the ball and kept the lead comfortable, rotating their bench without losing structure.

Tactical Story

Rokiskis W's success started on the defensive end. Their help rotations were sharp and their communication on screens limited Aistes LSMU's ability to create open looks from beyond the arc. By contesting the defensive glass, they denied second-chance opportunities and forced the visitors into one-shot possessions.

Offensively, Rokiskis profited from a balanced attack. Post entries created high-percentage looks and drew double teams, which in turn opened up cutting lanes and open jumpers. Aistes LSMU's brighter passages came when their guards pushed the pace and attacked before the defense could settle, but consistency across four quarters remained elusive.

Standout Performers

Rokiskis's frontcourt anchored the win, dominating the paint on both ends and converting efficiently around the rim, while their guards controlled the tempo and knocked down timely perimeter shots. The bench contributed valuable minutes, maintaining defensive intensity when the starters rested.

Aistes LSMU (W) showed flashes of quality, particularly in the first half, with their perimeter players carrying the scoring load. However, a lack of secondary scoring and turnovers at key moments prevented them from mounting a genuine comeback.

Season Impact

The result gives Rokiskis W an important early win and a positive points differential in the Lithuanian Women's Basketball League standings, reinforcing their credentials as a team capable of competing at the upper end of the table. Home form of this quality is a significant asset across a long season.

For Aistes LSMU (W), the defeat offers clear lessons around half-court execution and rebounding discipline. Both sides now move on to their next fixtures with plenty to build on — Rokiskis keen to sustain their momentum, and Aistes determined to turn competitive spells into complete performances.
