Siauliu Siauliai (W) produced a disciplined defensive performance to defeat LCC University (W) 42-21 in Lithuanian Women’s Basketball League action on 25 October 2026. In a game defined by stops, rebounding and controlled tempo, the visitors never allowed LCC to settle into a comfortable offensive rhythm and gradually turned a low-scoring contest into a clear road win.

Match overview

The final scoreline of 42-21 tells the story of a game dominated by defense. Siauliu Siauliai set the tone early by contesting every catch and closing driving lanes, while LCC University struggled to generate clean looks in the half-court. The visitors were patient offensively and did not need a high-powered scoring night to take control.

LCC’s best moments came when they forced turnovers and attacked before the Siauliai defense could set. But those spells were too brief. Siauliai’s ability to protect the paint and finish defensive possessions with rebounds gave them a steady advantage that grew as the game wore on.

Key moments

The opening quarter established the pattern. Siauliu Siauliai built an early cushion by moving the ball patiently and attacking the basket with purpose, while LCC were held to a handful of contested jumpers. The visitors’ first significant run came through defense, with deflections and rebounds leading to easy transition chances.

LCC briefly found life when they increased their pressure and forced Siauliai into a few rushed possessions. But the home side could not convert that energy into a sustained scoring run. Siauliai responded with a composed stretch of half-court execution, and the lead remained firmly in their control through the second half.

Tactical story

Siauliu Siauliai’s half-court defense was the foundation of the win. They crowded the paint, forced LCC into mid-range attempts and limited second-chance points. On offense, Siauliai did not force the issue; they worked for inside touches and open corner looks, which was enough in a game where every basket carried extra weight.

LCC University’s difficulty came from a lack of rhythm. When their first option was taken away, possessions often ended in contested shots or late clock situations. They competed on the glass and never stopped defending, but the offensive end remained a struggle. Siauliai’s control of the defensive boards was especially important because it denied LCC the extra possessions they needed to climb back.

Standout performers

Siauliu Siauliai’s guards managed the game well, valuing possession and making timely passes against LCC’s pressure. Their frontcourt also played a key role by protecting the rim and finishing around the basket. It was a collective performance rather than a one-player outburst, which made the visitors difficult to defend.

For LCC University, the effort was visible even in defeat. Their defensive activity created a few momentum chances, and their interior players battled on the boards. The next step will be finding more consistent scoring balance and better shot quality when the first offensive action breaks down.

League impact

The win gives Siauliu Siauliai a valuable road result in the Lithuanian Women’s Basketball League and reinforces their ability to win games when the pace is slow. Defensive performances like this can be a platform for the rest of the season, especially in a league where home courts and tight rotations can produce unpredictable results.

For LCC University, the 42-21 loss is a reminder of how important early offense and shot selection are against organized defenses. The standings will show a defeat, but the performance also highlighted areas to build on: defensive intensity, rebounding effort and the willingness to keep competing. Siauliai leave with the result, while LCC leave with a clear checklist for improvement.
