Key moments

The most important stretch came early in the third quarter. LSU Kaunas scored on consecutive possessions to push the lead to 14, forcing LCC University to call timeout. The home side responded with a brief run, but LSU Kaunas closed the quarter strongly to restore control.

In the fourth quarter, LCC University cut the gap to single digits with a quick burst, but LSU Kaunas tightened its defense and converted free throws down the stretch. A pair of offensive rebounds and a transition layup in the final five minutes effectively ended the hosts’ comeback hopes.

Tactical story

LSU Kaunas’s defensive discipline stood out. The visitors contested perimeter shots, denied easy entry passes, and forced LCC University into late-clock attempts. On offense, LSU Kaunas moved the ball well, creating open looks from beyond the arc and second-chance opportunities inside.

LCC University’s best moments came when it played with pace and attacked the basket. However, inconsistent shooting and turnovers prevented the home side from sustaining momentum. LSU Kaunas’s rebounding advantage, particularly on the defensive glass, limited LCC’s second-chance points and allowed the visitors to control the tempo.

Standout performers

LSU Kaunas received balanced scoring across the rotation, with the backcourt dictating pace and the frontcourt cleaning up on the boards. The visitors’ bench also provided valuable minutes, maintaining defensive intensity when the starters rested.

For LCC University, the guard play created several good looks, and the team’s interior players competed hard on the glass. But the home side needed a more efficient shooting night to match LSU Kaunas’s consistency.

Season impact

The win strengthens LSU Kaunas’s position in the Lithuanian Women’s Basketball League standings and adds a valuable road result to its record. LCC University, meanwhile, will look to improve its half-court execution and rebounding before the next round.

With the head-to-head advantage now in LSU Kaunas’s favor, the result could matter when the league table tightens later in the season. For now, the visitors can take satisfaction from a professional, well-controlled performance.
