The Lithuanian Women's Basketball League delivered a clear statement on October 17, 2026, as LCC University (W) went on the road and defeated Alytaus Dzukija (W) 82-59, a 23-point margin that underlined the visitors' control on both ends of the floor.

Match Overview

Played at Alytaus Dzukija's home gym, the contest was expected to be a competitive league fixture, but LCC University (W) seized the initiative early and never let it slip. The away side dictated tempo, moved the ball efficiently in the half court, and punished Dzukija's defensive rotations with a steady stream of open looks.

The final scoreline of 82-59 tells the story of a game that gradually drifted away from the hosts. Alytaus Dzukija (W) competed in spurts, but their offensive rhythm stalled for long stretches, particularly in the second and third quarters, allowing LCC University (W) to build a cushion that proved insurmountable.

Key Moments

The first quarter set the tone. LCC University (W) came out with aggressive on-ball pressure, forcing early turnovers and converting them into transition points. That defensive energy translated directly into offense, and by the end of the opening period the visitors had established a lead that forced Alytaus Dzukija (W) to play catch-up basketball.

The decisive stretch came after halftime. LCC University (W) opened the third quarter with a sustained run, extending their advantage into the twenties. Dzukija tried to respond with a more physical approach inside, drawing fouls and slowing the game down, but the visitors' perimeter shooting and rebounding edge kept the margin comfortable.

Tactical Story

LCC University (W) thrived on ball movement and spacing. Their guards probed the paint, kicked out to shooters, and consistently found the extra pass against a Dzukija defense that struggled to close out. Defensively, they switched effectively on screens and limited second-chance opportunities by controlling the defensive glass.

Alytaus Dzukija (W), by contrast, leaned heavily on individual creation. When their first option was taken away, possessions became rushed, leading to contested shots and empty trips. Their best moments came when they pushed the pace off live-ball turnovers, but those moments were too infrequent to change the outcome.

Standout Performers

• LCC University (W) backcourt: Controlled the tempo, distributed well, and knocked down timely perimeter shots.
• LCC University (W) frontcourt: Won the rebounding battle and provided consistent scoring around the rim.
• Alytaus Dzukija (W) leaders: Showed fight in transition and at the free-throw line, but lacked enough support.

Season Impact

The win strengthens LCC University (W)'s position in the Lithuanian Women's Basketball League standings and reinforces their reputation as a disciplined, well-coached side capable of winning on the road. For Alytaus Dzukija (W), the 59-point outing highlights the need for more balanced scoring and better half-court execution going forward. The 82-59 result is a reminder that in this league, defensive intensity and ball movement remain the difference between a comfortable win and a frustrating home defeat.
