The win gives Rouen an important result in the crowded Pro B promotion race, while Ada Blois leave with credit for a resilient performance but frustration over missed opportunities.

Match Overview

Rouen started strongly and led 22-18 after the first quarter. Ada Blois responded in the second, outscoring the hosts 21-20, but Rouen still took a 42-39 lead into halftime. The third quarter followed a similar pattern, with Rouen edging ahead 21-19 to extend the margin to 63-58. In the fourth, Rouen kept Ada Blois at arm's length, closing out the game 22-20 for the final 85-78 scoreline.

Neither team was able to pull away completely, but Rouen's efficiency in the half court and their ability to get to the free-throw line proved decisive. Ada Blois fought back multiple times, yet each run was met with a steady Rouen response.

• Second-quarter run: Ada Blois cut the deficit to one with a 7-0 run, forcing a Rouen timeout.
• Third-quarter separation: Rouen's 8-2 burst midway through the period pushed the lead to eight.

Standout Performers

Rouen's power forward led the way with 21 points and nine rebounds, dominating the paint and drawing fouls throughout the night. Their starting point guard added 18 points and six assists, controlling the tempo and making smart decisions against Ada Blois' pressure defense. The Rouen bench contributed 22 points, a crucial advantage in a game with several momentum swings.

Ada Blois were paced by their shooting guard, who scored 19 points and hit three three-pointers. Their center recorded 15 points and eight rebounds, but foul trouble limited his impact in the fourth quarter. The visitors also struggled with turnovers at key moments, finishing with 14 as a team.

Tactical Story

Rouen's offense revolved around inside-out play. They established their big men early, then kicked the ball out to shooters when Ada Blois collapsed. That approach generated open looks and forced the defense to cover every inch of the floor. Defensively, Rouen switched screens effectively and limited Ada Blois' transition opportunities.

Ada Blois stayed in the game with three-point shooting and offensive rebounding. They used ball screens to create mismatches and attacked the rim with purpose. However, Rouen's discipline in the final five minutes — committing only one turnover and making seven of eight free throws — proved to be the difference.

LNB Pro B Impact

This victory strengthens Rouen's position in the Ligue Nationale de Basket Pro B standings and adds to their home-court reputation. In a league where promotion is decided by small margins, winning games like this at home is essential. Ada Blois will take encouragement from their fight but will know that road wins are vital in the race for playoff positioning.

Rouen now turn their attention to the next fixture with confidence, while Ada Blois must regroup quickly. The Pro B season is long, but every result against a direct rival can shape the final table.
