UJAP Quimper produced a composed road performance to beat Le Havre 94-89 in Ligue Nationale de Basket Pro B, using a balanced attack and a strong finish to claim a valuable away victory. In a high-scoring contest, Le Havre pushed hard until the final buzzer, but Quimper's efficiency in the fourth quarter proved decisive.

Match Overview

Le Havre came out firing in front of their home supporters, attacking early and knocking down shots from the perimeter to build an early rhythm. Quimper, however, matched them almost basket for basket, refusing to let the hosts pull away and gradually imposing their own tempo on the game.

From the second quarter onward, the contest settled into a pattern of alternating runs, with both teams scoring freely and neither defense able to fully contain the other's primary options. The difference came down to execution under pressure.

Quarter-by-Quarter Breakdown

• First quarter: Le Havre 24 – Quimper 26
• Second quarter: Le Havre 21 – Quimper 22
• Third quarter: Le Havre 22 – Quimper 24
• Fourth quarter: Le Havre 22 – Quimper 22
• Final score: Le Havre 89 – UJAP Quimper 94

Quimper led by a narrow margin at each break, a reflection of their consistency rather than any single dominant stretch. That steady advantage meant Le Havre were always chasing, and in a game decided by small margins, chasing proved exhausting.

Key Moments

Le Havre's best opportunity came midway through the fourth quarter, when a quick flurry of points cut the deficit to a single possession. But Quimper answered immediately with a well-executed set that ended in an open look from beyond the arc, restoring their cushion and deflating the home momentum.

The final minute was a test of nerve: Quimper converted their free throws, protected the ball and forced Le Havre into rushed attempts, closing out the win without allowing a late miracle.

Tactical Story

Quimper's offensive balance was the story of the night. Rather than relying on one scorer, they moved the ball patiently and punished Le Havre's help defense with kick-out passes and second-chance opportunities. Defensively, they conceded points but won the critical battles — limiting fast-break points and forcing Le Havre into contested jumpers late in the shot clock.

Le Havre's rebounding effort kept them alive, and their shooting from deep made the game entertaining, but a handful of empty possessions in the final five minutes ultimately ended their hopes.

Season Impact

Road wins in Pro B are precious, and this one gives Quimper a real boost as they push for a stronger position in the standings. Le Havre, meanwhile, will rue a narrow home defeat in a game they were never far from winning, and will be focused on tightening their late-game execution as the season progresses.
