How the Game Unfolded

Denain opened with a 22-18 first quarter, attacking the paint and drawing fouls to set an aggressive tone. Ada Blois responded well in the second period, winning the quarter 21-20, but Denain still carried a 42-39 lead into halftime. The game turned in the third quarter, when Denain outscored Ada Blois 24-17. That burst gave the home side a double-digit cushion and forced the visitors to chase the game in the final ten minutes. Ada Blois managed 20 points in the fourth, but Denain matched them almost shot for shot to close out the 87-76 win.

Key Moments

The decisive sequence came midway through the third quarter. After Ada Blois had trimmed the deficit to four, Denain rattled off a quick 9-0 run powered by back-to-back three-pointers and a fast-break dunk. The run pushed the lead to 13 and silenced the visitors’ momentum. Ada Blois never got closer than eight points after that, and Denain’s free-throw shooting in the final three minutes protected the result.

Tactical Story

Denain’s half-court offense was built around ball movement and inside-out action. The guards consistently probed the lane, then kicked out to shooters when Ada Blois collapsed. Defensively, Denain switched aggressively on screens and limited clean looks from beyond the arc. Ada Blois tried to speed the game up with full-court pressure in the fourth quarter, but Denain’s guards handled the pressure well and converted turnovers into easy points. The rebounding battle also favored Denain, who controlled the defensive glass and prevented second-chance opportunities.

Standout Players

Denain’s Jordan Bailey led all scorers with 19 points, adding four assists and three steals. Malik Traoré was a force inside with 16 points and nine rebounds, while Théo Lemaire contributed 14 points on efficient shooting. For Ada Blois, Hugo Bernard scored 18 points and Amadou Cissé added 15, but the visitors lacked a third consistent scoring option. Denain’s bench also provided a spark, outscoring the Ada Blois reserves by a comfortable margin.

Season Impact

The win gives Denain Voltaire valuable early-season momentum in the LNB Pro B standings. It also reinforces the team’s home-court advantage at the Salle Jean Degros, a factor that could matter deeply in the race for playoff positioning. Ada Blois, meanwhile, will look to correct its third-quarter defensive issues before the next round. The head-to-head result adds another chapter to a growing Pro B rivalry, and both clubs will meet again later in the season with valuable points on the line.
