Caen 90–77 Iel Toulon — Caen produced a confident home performance in the Ligue Nationale de Basket Pro B, beating Iel Toulon 90–77 behind a balanced offensive display and a strong second-half surge.

Match Overview

Caen's 90-point output was the product of patient, well-structured basketball. They moved the ball effectively, attacked the paint with purpose, and shot with efficiency from the perimeter. Toulon remained competitive into the third quarter, but Caen's ability to sustain their scoring rate while tightening up defensively proved the difference.

The 13-point margin reflects a game that Caen controlled for the majority of the second half.

Key Moments

• First quarter: An open, fast-paced start with both teams scoring freely and Caen holding a narrow edge.
• Second quarter: Toulon kept within reach thanks to sharp shooting, but Caen's inside presence kept them ahead at the interval.
• Third quarter: The decisive stretch — Caen opened the half with a sustained run, extending the lead into double digits.
• Fourth quarter: Toulon pushed to reduce the deficit, but Caen responded with composed execution and clutch shooting.

Tactical Story

Caen's offense was notably balanced, with contributions from the backcourt and frontcourt alike. Their pick-and-roll game created consistent advantages, and when Toulon adjusted their coverage, Caen found open shooters on the weak side.

Defensively, Caen gradually limited Toulon's driving lanes, forcing them into contested jump shots as the game wore on. Toulon's offensive output declined in the second half as a result, and their inability to generate stops at the other end prevented any serious comeback.

Season Impact

Home wins of this quality are essential in the LNB Pro B, where the difference between a playoff push and a mid-table finish is often razor thin. Caen strengthen their position with a solid all-round display, while Iel Toulon will review a game in which they competed for long periods but were ultimately out-executed in the key stretches.

Caen will look to carry this form forward, while Toulon search for the defensive consistency needed to win on the road in one of Europe's most demanding second divisions.
