Ada Blois 105-92 Poitiers: Blois Turn on the Style in High-Scoring Pro B Clash

Ada Blois delivered an emphatic offensive performance in Ligue Nationale de Basket Pro B, defeating Poitiers 105-92 in front of their home crowd. The hosts crossed the century mark for the night, combining fast-break basketball with sharp perimeter shooting to pull clear of a Poitiers side that competed hard but could not match the pace of the game.

It was a result that underlined Blois' ambition in France's second division. The club has established itself as a consistent contender for promotion to the Betclic Élite, and performances like this — high tempo, high efficiency, deep scoring — show why.

Match Overview

The opening quarter was played at breakneck speed, with both teams happy to attack early in the shot clock. Poitiers matched Blois basket for basket in the early exchanges, knocking down outside shots and attacking the rim with purpose. But as the half wore on, Blois' superior depth began to tell, and a run of quick scores gave the hosts a cushion heading into the interval.

The third quarter effectively settled the contest. Blois tightened up defensively, forced a series of turnovers, and converted them into transition points. The lead stretched into double digits and, although Poitiers kept scoring, they were never able to close the gap to a single possession again.

• Final score: Ada Blois 105, Poitiers 92
• Key theme: Transition scoring and three-point shooting
• Decisive period: A dominant third quarter for the home side

Key Moments

The game's defining stretch came immediately after half-time. With a modest lead in hand, Blois came out of the locker room with renewed defensive intensity, trapping ball handlers on the wings and turning Poitiers' mistakes into easy layups. Within a few minutes the margin had ballooned, and the momentum was firmly with the home team.

Poitiers responded with a spirited run of their own in the fourth quarter, cutting the deficit with a flurry of three-pointers. But every time they threatened, Blois found an answer — usually through a drive-and-dish sequence that ended in an open corner three or a dunk. The hosts' ability to score at will down the stretch made the comeback impossible.

Tactical Story

Blois' offensive philosophy was on full display: push the ball, spread the floor, and shoot with confidence. Their guards repeatedly beat the first line of defence off the dribble, and the resulting rotations gave the shooters plenty of room on the perimeter. The ball movement was unselfish throughout, with the extra pass regularly producing a better shot than the first one.

Poitiers were far from passive. They scored 92 points of their own, found success in the pick-and-roll and shot well from beyond the arc. The problem was at the defensive end, where they struggled to contain dribble penetration and were punished on the offensive glass. In a game played at this tempo, those small defensive lapses compound quickly.

Standout Performers

Every member of Blois' rotation contributed, which is the mark of a team built for a long promotion campaign. The starting backcourt dictated tempo and created chances for others, while the forwards ran the floor relentlessly and finished around the rim. The bench maintained the intensity when substitutions came, ensuring no drop-off in scoring or defensive pressure.

For Poitiers, there were encouraging signs on offence despite the defeat. Their perimeter shooting kept them in the game for long stretches, and their scoring balance across the roster suggests the team has the tools to win games in Pro B this season. Tightening the defensive rotations will be the priority on the training floor.

What It Means for the Season

A 105-point night is a statement in a league where defence and physicality often dominate. For Ada Blois, this result reinforces their credentials as a genuine promotion candidate and gives them valuable momentum heading into a demanding stretch of fixtures. Consistency on the road will determine whether they can convert this form into a top-of-the-table finish.

Poitiers, meanwhile, will reflect on a game in which they scored enough points to win on most nights. Improving the defensive end without sacrificing their offensive rhythm is the clear challenge, and the response in the coming weeks will shape their season.
