Antibes edged a high-scoring thriller on the road, defeating Ada Blois 97-92 in a Ligue Nationale de Basket Pro B fixture that delivered everything the competition is known for: pace, skill and a finish that went to the wire. The visitors' composure at the free-throw line in the final minute proved the difference in a game featuring nineteen lead changes.

Match Overview

Both teams came out committed to an up-tempo game. Antibes shot the ball exceptionally well from the perimeter in the opening quarter, but Ada Blois answered through interior scoring and aggressive drives, and the visitors held a narrow 25-22 edge after ten minutes. The second period was a trade of runs, with Blois briefly taking the lead before Antibes responded to head into half-time with a 48-46 advantage.

The third quarter turned into a shootout. Antibes found rhythm from deep and pushed the lead to eight, but Blois closed the period with a flurry of their own to stay within striking distance. In the fourth, the teams exchanged blows until the final ninety seconds, when Antibes' execution under pressure sealed it.

• Q2: Ada Blois 24 – 23 Antibes

Key Moments

With two minutes remaining and the score tied, Antibes produced the game's defining possession: a drive-and-kick that generated an open corner three, followed by a defensive stand that forced Blois into a difficult, contested shot. Two made free throws at the other end pushed the lead to five and forced Blois to chase.

Blois had one last look. A missed three-pointer with twenty seconds left effectively ended their hopes, and Antibes iced the result from the line. It was a cruel finish for a home side that had shot well enough to win on most nights.

Tactical Story

Antibes won this game with efficiency. Their ball movement generated high-quality looks from beyond the arc, and their shot selection was disciplined throughout, avoiding the mid-range traps that can stall an offence. In the pick-and-roll, their guards consistently made the right read against Blois' drop coverage, either pulling up or finding the roll man.

Ada Blois were far from poor — their interior scoring and offensive rebounding kept them in the contest — but their perimeter defence let them down in key moments. Too many closeouts arrived a step late, and Antibes made them pay. Blois' late-game shot selection also became rushed as the clock tightened, a contrast to the visitors' calm execution.

Standout Performers

• Antibes: Their lead guard was the game's outstanding performer, combining scoring, playmaking and poise in the closing minutes.
• Antibes: A strong shooting night from the wings stretched the Blois defence and opened up driving lanes.
• Ada Blois: Their inside presence produced an efficient double-digit scoring night and dominated the offensive glass.
• Ada Blois: A bench scorer provided a crucial second-half spark that kept the home side within reach.

Season Impact

In the tightly packed LNB Pro B standings, road wins of this quality carry extra weight. Antibes' ability to close out a high-pressure game away from home is a promising sign for their promotion ambitions, and their offensive efficiency in this performance ranks among their best of the season.

Ada Blois will take encouragement from the fight they showed, but narrow home defeats are costly in a league where every point of difference matters. Tightening late-game defence and reducing fouling in the clutch will be priorities as they look to climb the table in the weeks ahead.
