Ilirija Women delivered one of the most emphatic performances of the Liga Nova KBM Women round, dismantling Domel Skofja Loka Women 87-57 on 15 October 2026. The visitors dominated from the opening minutes, winning every quarter and stretching the lead steadily in the second half to complete a 30-point rout.

Match Overview

Ilirija arrived with clear intent and never let the game become a contest. Their defensive pressure disrupted Skofja Loka's rhythm immediately, and their transition attack punished every mistake. By halftime the margin had already reached double figures, and the third quarter turned the game into a procession.

• First quarter: Domel Skofja Loka 14 – 24 Ilirija
• Second quarter: Domel Skofja Loka 16 – 20 Ilirija
• Third quarter: Domel Skofja Loka 13 – 22 Ilirija
• Fourth quarter: Domel Skofja Loka 14 – 21 Ilirija
• Final: Domel Skofja Loka Women 57 – 87 Ilirija Women

Ilirija scored at least 20 points in all four quarters, a level of offensive consistency that the home side simply could not match.

Key Moments

The game was effectively shaped in the first eight minutes. Ilirija opened with an aggressive full-court approach, forcing turnovers and converting them into easy baskets, racing to a 24-14 lead by the end of the first quarter. Skofja Loka's offence struggled against the visitors' switching defence, settling for contested perimeter shots and rarely getting second looks at the rim.

Any hope of a home comeback was extinguished early in the third quarter. Ilirija opened the second half with a 12-2 run, extending the lead past 20 and prompting a timeout that did little to slow the momentum. The final period was played out with the result secure, though Ilirija's bench maintained the same intensity, adding to the margin and underlining the depth of the roster.

Tactical Story

Ilirija's dominance began on the defensive end. Their guards pressured the ball higher up the floor than Skofja Loka expected, disrupting entry passes and forcing hurried decisions. When the home side did break the pressure, Ilirija's help rotations were quick enough to contest shots inside, and their defensive rebounding ended possessions cleanly.

Offensively, the visitors were balanced and unselfish. They moved the ball from side to side, attacked mismatches in the post and consistently found open shooters on kick-outs. Skofja Loka, by contrast, never found a reliable source of offence. Their half-court sets stalled against Ilirija's length, and the few bright moments came from individual drives rather than collective execution. The rebounding stats mirrored the scoreline, with the visitors comfortably winning the battle on the glass.

Standout Players

Ilirija's backcourt set the tone on both ends, combining scoring with relentless defensive pressure, while their forwards controlled the paint at both ends of the floor. Contributions came from across the rotation, with the bench adding meaningful points and maintaining the team's tempo in the fourth quarter.

For Domel Skofja Loka, the evening was a difficult one, though their shooting guard competed throughout and found some success attacking off the dribble. Their post players worked hard defensively against a deeper, more physical frontcourt but received limited support on the offensive end.

Season Impact

The victory strengthens Ilirija Women's position in the Liga Nova KBM Women standings and sends a clear message about their scoring potential and defensive intensity. Building a 30-point margin on the road is a meaningful statement in any league. For Domel Skofja Loka Women, the result highlights areas to address — particularly ball security against pressure and half-court shot creation — as they prepare for the next round of fixtures.
