KK Krka Power Past Helios Domzale 92-68 in Liga Nova KBM

KK Krka produced a dominant home display on October 15, 2026, defeating Helios Domzale 92-68 in Liga Nova KBM action. The Novo Mesto club controlled the game from start to finish, combining efficient half-court execution with a relentless defensive effort that left Helios chasing the contest for long stretches.

The 24-point win was one of Krka’s most complete performances of the early season and served notice that they intend to be a major factor in the Liga Nova KBM title race.

Match Overview

Krka set the tone immediately, moving the ball crisply and attacking the paint with purpose. Helios Domzale tried to keep pace early, but Krka’s depth and physicality began to wear them down before the first quarter was over. The home side built a comfortable lead and never allowed Helios to put together a sustained run.

The quarter scores highlighted Krka’s consistency:

• First quarter: Krka 25, Helios 16
• Second quarter: Krka 24, Helios 18
• Third quarter: Krka 21, Helios 17
• Fourth quarter: Krka 22, Helios 17

Krka won every quarter, a sign of their focus and superior execution on both ends of the floor.

Key Moments

The game’s defining stretch came in the second quarter. Helios had briefly cut the deficit to single digits, but Krka responded with a 12-2 run powered by defensive stops and quick outlet passes. That burst pushed the lead back to 17 and forced Helios into a timeout that did little to slow the momentum.

In the third quarter, Krka’s defense suffocated Helios’ half-court sets. The visitors struggled to find open looks, and Krka turned missed shots into transition opportunities. By the start of the fourth, the outcome was no longer in doubt.

Tactical Story

Krka’s offensive balance was the key to their success. They attacked inside early, then kicked the ball out to shooters when Helios collapsed. The result was a high-percentage shooting night and a healthy assist total. Krka also dominated the rebounding battle, limiting Helios to very few second-chance points.

Defensively, Krka mixed man-to-man pressure with timely zone looks, disrupting Helios’ rhythm. Helios’ guards were forced into tough pull-up jumpers, while their big men found little room to operate in the post. It was a textbook team defensive performance.

Standout Players

Krka’s backcourt controlled the tempo, with their starting guards combining to score efficiently and create open shots for teammates. The frontcourt also made a significant impact, protecting the rim and scoring around the basket. Several Krka players finished in double figures, underlining the team’s depth.

For Helios Domzale, the scoring load was too concentrated. Their leading scorers had to manufacture points against a set defense, and the supporting cast struggled to provide consistent production. The loss highlighted areas Helios must address if they hope to compete with the league’s top teams.

Season Impact

The 92-68 win improves KK Krka’s standing in Liga Nova KBM and gives them a valuable head-to-head advantage over Helios Domzale. In a league where home court and point differential can shape playoff seeding, this result could prove important later in the season. Helios, meanwhile, will look to bounce back quickly and avoid letting one heavy defeat affect their confidence.
