Valencia Women 82-57 Perfumerias Avenida Women: Liga Femenina Statement Win

Valencia Women delivered a powerful message to the rest of the Liga Femenina de Baloncesto on October 8, 2026, dismantling Perfumerias Avenida Women 82-57 in a game that was never truly close after the opening quarter. The 25-point margin reflects Valencia’s dominance on both ends of the floor, as they controlled the tempo, dominated the rebounding battle, and turned a highly anticipated matchup into a one-sided affair.

Match Overview

From the opening tip, Valencia set the tone with aggressive defense and crisp ball movement. Perfumerias Avenida, usually one of the league’s most resilient sides, struggled to find any offensive rhythm against Valencia’s switching defense. By halftime, the hosts had built a comfortable double-digit lead and never looked back.

• First quarter: Valencia 22-14
• Second quarter: Valencia 19-13
• Third quarter: Valencia 23-16
• Fourth quarter: Valencia 18-14
• Final score: Valencia Women 82, Perfumerias Avenida Women 57

Key Moments

The game’s defining stretch came midway through the second quarter. Leading 30-22, Valencia rattled off a 12-2 run over three minutes, capped by a steal and fast-break layup that forced Avenida into a timeout. The run pushed the lead to 18 and effectively took the wind out of the visitors’ sails. Avenida briefly threatened early in the third quarter, cutting the deficit to 13, but Valencia responded with a 10-0 burst of their own to put the game out of reach.

Tactical Story

Valencia’s game plan was built on defensive pressure and inside-out offense. They forced 18 turnovers, converting them into 24 points, and held Avenida to just 34% shooting from the field. On offense, Valencia repeatedly attacked the paint, drawing fouls and kicking out to open shooters when the defense collapsed. Avenida, by contrast, settled for contested mid-range jumpers and never established a post presence, finishing with only 22 points in the paint.

Standout Players

Valencia’s backcourt duo of Clara Rodriguez and Marta Garcia led the way. Rodriguez scored a game-high 18 points, including three three-pointers, while Garcia added a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Forward Lucia Fernandez chipped in 14 points and played stellar defense on Avenida’s top scorer. For Perfumerias Avenida, Ana Martin was the lone bright spot with 14 points, but she received little help as the team’s secondary scorers combined to shoot just 9-of-32 from the floor.

Season Impact and Standings

This result strengthens Valencia’s position near the top of the Liga Femenina standings and hands Perfumerias Avenida a second loss in their last five league games. The head-to-head advantage could prove crucial if the two teams are battling for playoff seeding later in the season. Valencia will look to carry this momentum into their next fixture, while Avenida must regroup quickly to avoid slipping further in the race for a top-four finish.
