Perfumerias Avenida Women produced a dominant home performance on October 11, 2026, overwhelming Gernika Bizkaia Women 86-58 in the Liga Femenina de Baloncesto. From the opening minutes, Avenida imposed their will on both ends of the floor, building a large lead early and never allowing Gernika to find a reliable offensive rhythm.

Match overview

Avenida came out with intense defensive pressure and crisp ball movement, racing to a 24-10 lead after the first quarter. The hosts pushed the pace at every opportunity, turning defensive stops into transition points. Gernika struggled to match that energy, managing only 26 points by halftime while Avenida’s lead continued to grow.

Key moments

The game’s defining moment arrived early. Avenida opened with a 16-2 run, forcing Gernika into hurried shots and multiple turnovers. Although Gernika settled down slightly in the second quarter, Avenida answered every small push with a bigger one. A 10-0 surge in the third quarter erased any doubt about the outcome and allowed the home bench to see extended minutes.

Standout performers and tactics

Avenida’s depth was on full display, with contributions from the starting five and the bench. Their guards controlled the tempo, their forwards attacked the glass, and their defense communicated well through switches and help rotations. Gernika had a few bright moments from beyond the arc, but they could not sustain offensive consistency. Avenida’s ability to score inside and out made them nearly impossible to guard in the half court.

Season impact

This 86-58 victory reinforces Perfumerias Avenida Women’s status as a major force in the Liga Femenina de Baloncesto. It is the kind of comprehensive win that builds confidence and improves point differential in the standings. For Gernika Bizkaia Women, the focus will be on regrouping defensively and finding more reliable scoring options before their next fixture.
