Key moments

The fourth quarter delivered the drama. Mallorca held a narrow lead midway through the period, but Jairis responded with a composed run built on defensive stops and patient offense. A late three-pointer gave the visitors the lead, and free throws extended the advantage in the final minute. Mallorca had one last opportunity to tie or win, but Jairis’s defense forced a difficult shot as time expired.

The game’s defining stretch may have come earlier, when Mallorca threatened to pull away in the third quarter. Jairis refused to let the deficit grow, answering each Mallorca basket with one of its own. That resilience kept the visitors within striking distance and set up the late finish.

Tactical story

Jairis won this game with balance. The visitors shared the scoring load, moved the ball effectively against Mallorca’s switching defense, and made timely shots from the perimeter. Defensively, Jairis adjusted in the second half, crowding Mallorca’s primary ball handlers and forcing tougher entries into the post. Mallorca still found success on the offensive boards, but Jairis limited the easy second-chance points that could have changed the result.

Mallorca’s half-court offense was at its best when the ball moved side to side and created open driving lanes. In the closing minutes, however, those lanes tightened. Jairis’s late-game discipline, especially in rotation and closeouts, proved decisive.

Standout performers

Marta Ruiz led Club Jairis Women with 19 points, including crucial baskets in the fourth quarter. Laura Gomez added 16 points and eight rebounds, giving Jairis a steady interior presence. For Mallorca, Ana Torres scored 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds, while the home guard rotation created several open looks that kept the game close until the final possession.

What the result means

The road win is a meaningful boost for Club Jairis Women in the Liga Femenina de Baloncesto standings, demonstrating the team’s ability to close out tight games away from home. For Mallorca W, the 67-69 defeat is a frustrating one, but the performance showed enough fight and offensive quality to suggest better results are within reach. In a league where margins are often narrow, Jairis’s late-game execution made the difference.
