Valencia Women delivered one of the most authoritative road performances of the early Liga Femenina de Baloncesto season, defeating Estudiantes Women 99-70 on October 11, 2026. The visitors were sharper from the opening tip, controlled the tempo, and turned a competitive first quarter into a decisive victory behind balanced scoring and aggressive transition play.

Match overview

Valencia set the tone with early defensive pressure, forcing Estudiantes into contested shots and hurried possessions. The home side stayed within reach for much of the first quarter, but Valencia’s ability to score in bunches changed the game before halftime. A 51-37 lead at the break gave the visitors full control, and they never allowed Estudiantes to mount a serious comeback.

Quarter-by-quarter scoring

• First quarter: Estudiantes 18, Valencia 24
• Second quarter: Estudiantes 19, Valencia 27
• Third quarter: Estudiantes 17, Valencia 24
• Fourth quarter: Estudiantes 16, Valencia 24
• Final score: Estudiantes Women 70, Valencia Women 99

The second quarter was the decisive stretch. Valencia outscored Estudiantes 27-19, using steals, long rebounds, and quick outlet passes to create easy baskets. By the time the third quarter began, the game had shifted from a tactical battle into a clear statement of Valencia’s depth and offensive efficiency.

Key moments

Valencia’s most important run came midway through the second period, when the visitors rattled off consecutive scoring possessions while holding Estudiantes scoreless for several minutes. That burst pushed the lead beyond 15 points and forced the home bench into timeout. Estudiantes briefly found rhythm in the third quarter through interior scoring, but Valencia answered every mini-run with a three-pointer or a fast-break finish.

Standout performers and tactics

Valencia’s backcourt dictated the flow, combining patient half-court execution with relentless pressure on the ball. The frontcourt also dominated the glass, limiting Estudiantes to few second-chance opportunities. On offense, Valencia shared the ball effectively, repeatedly finding open shooters and cutters against a defense that grew increasingly stretched. Estudiantes fought hard on the boards and had productive stretches in the paint, but turnovers and cold perimeter shooting prevented any sustained rally.

Season impact

The 99-70 win strengthens Valencia’s position among the early contenders in the Liga Femenina de Baloncesto standings. It also sends a clear message about their ability to win comfortably away from home. For Estudiantes, the result highlights areas to address defensively, especially transition coverage and three-point closeouts, as the season moves deeper into its opening phase.
