Key moments

The defining stretch came late in the first quarter and early in the second, when Jairis used a 14-2 run to turn a close game into a double-digit lead. Independiente de Salta briefly cut the deficit to 10 points midway through the third quarter, but Jairis responded with a 9-0 burst capped by a corner three and a fast-break layup. That sequence restored control and effectively ended the visitors’ hopes of a comeback.

Tactical story

Jairis won the game on the defensive end. The hosts forced 18 turnovers, limited Salta to 34% shooting from the field and dominated the rebounding battle, particularly on the offensive glass. Jairis’s guards did an excellent job of pushing the pace after stops, creating easy transition opportunities before Salta’s defense could set. On offense, Jairis shared the ball well and attacked the paint consistently, drawing fouls and generating second-chance points.

Standout performers

• Aina Ayuso (Jairis): 18 points, 6 assists and 4 steals, controlling the tempo from the backcourt.
• Paula Ginzo (Jairis): 16 points and 9 rebounds, providing a strong interior presence on both ends.
• Laura Juskaite (Jairis): 12 points and 7 rebounds, knocking down timely perimeter shots.
• Lucía Bravo (Independiente de Salta): 15 points and 5 rebounds, one of the few consistent offensive threats for the visitors.

What it means

The win strengthens Jairis’s standing in the Liga Femenina de Baloncesto table and gives the team momentum heading into a demanding stretch of fixtures. For Independiente de Salta, the defeat highlights the need for more consistent half-court execution and better care of the basketball. Jairis will look to carry the defensive intensity forward, while Salta will aim to regroup and find more balance on offense.
