Casademont Zaragoza came out on top in a fast-paced Liga Asociación de Clubs de Baloncesto shootout, defeating Forca Lleida 109-98 on 18 October 2026. The home side’s offensive execution and ability to answer every Lleida run proved decisive in a game that was played at breakneck speed from the opening tip.

Match overview

Zaragoza took the first quarter 27-24 and added a 28-25 edge in the second to lead 55-49 at halftime. Lleida remained within striking distance thanks to timely three-point shooting and aggressive drives, but Zaragoza’s ball movement kept creating high-quality looks. The third quarter proved pivotal: Zaragoza won it 26-23, then closed the game with a 28-26 fourth-quarter advantage to seal the 11-point win.

The combined 207 points reflected the openness of the contest. Both teams pushed the pace, attacked early in the shot clock, and relied heavily on perimeter shooting. Zaragoza finished with a balanced scoring spread, while Lleida’s offense was powered by a strong outside shooting night that kept the visitors in contention until the final minutes.

Key moments

• Zaragoza closed the first half with a flurry of three-pointers to establish a six-point cushion.
• A 9-0 run early in the third quarter gave the hosts their first double-digit lead.
• Lleida answered with back-to-back triples to cut the deficit, but Zaragoza’s transition offense restored control.
• In the fourth quarter, Zaragoza converted crucial free throws and defensive stops in the final three minutes to close out the win.

Tactical story

Zaragoza’s offense was built on quick ball reversals and aggressive dribble penetration. The hosts consistently drew help defenders and kicked out to open shooters, finishing with a high number of assisted baskets. Their transition game was especially effective, producing easy points after Lleida’s missed shots and live-ball turnovers.

Lleida’s strategy was clear: spread the floor, shoot the three, and attack the offensive glass. It worked for long stretches, particularly in the first half, but the visitors could not get enough stops when Zaragoza made its decisive runs. The rebounding battle was close, but Zaragoza’s ability to protect the ball and execute in the half-court during crunch time made the difference.

Standout performers

Zaragoza’s guards controlled the tempo and delivered timely shots, while the frontcourt provided screening, rebounding, and interior finishing. The bench also contributed important minutes, helping the hosts maintain their offensive rhythm. For Lleida, the perimeter shooting was a clear positive, and the team’s resilience kept the game competitive, but the defensive breakdowns in the third quarter proved costly.

Season impact

The victory gives Casademont Zaragoza a valuable home win and a confidence boost in the Liga ACB standings. Scoring 109 points against a competitive opponent signals the team’s offensive potential, though the coaching staff will likely want a tighter defensive performance moving forward. For Forca Lleida, the loss is a reminder that matching Zaragoza’s pace requires sustained execution on both ends, especially in the third quarter.
