Casademont Zaragoza delivered a composed and clinical road performance in the Liga ACB, defeating Basquet Coruna 92-71. The 21-point margin underlines a night of control for the visitors, who built their lead methodically and answered every home run with one of their own.

Match Overview

Riazor had reason for optimism early. Basquet Coruna started with intensity, attacking the offensive glass and getting to the free-throw line, and the opening quarter was competitive. But Zaragoza's quality showed through as the game settled, particularly in their half-court execution — patient possessions, sharp ball movement, and a willingness to take the open shot rather than force a difficult one.

The decisive period came around the middle of the contest. Zaragoza strung together a sustained run, built largely on perimeter shooting and transition baskets, and the deficit grew beyond the point where Coruna could manage it with simple adjustments. From there, the visitors managed the game maturely, controlling tempo and protecting their lead.

Key Moments

• Opening quarter: Coruna competed well, keeping the game close with energy and free throws.
• Second-quarter separation: Zaragoza's run opened a double-digit lead and shifted the momentum permanently.
• Third quarter: The visitors extended their advantage with efficient shooting and disciplined defense.
• Final period: Coruna pushed for a response, but Zaragoza's control of the pace closed the door.

Tactical Story

Zaragoza's half-court offense was the difference. They used screening actions to create mismatches, moved the ball quickly to punish help defense, and shot with real efficiency from three-point range. Defensively, they were disciplined about protecting the paint and forcing Coruna into perimeter attempts, which the hosts could not convert at a high enough rate to keep pace.

Coruna's best moments came when they played through the post and crashed the offensive boards, generating second-chance points. But those moments were isolated rather than sustained, and each time the home side threatened to reduce the gap, Zaragoza responded with a bucket at the other end — the mark of an experienced team on the road.

Standout Performers

Zaragoza's balanced attack was central to the win, with contributions from the backcourt and frontcourt alike. Their guards controlled the tempo and hit timely shots, while their interior players were effective on the glass and around the rim. For Basquet Coruna, the effort was there — particularly from the players who attacked the basket and drew fouls — but the shooting consistency needed to match a team of Zaragoza's quality was missing.

Season Impact

Road wins in the Liga ACB are hard to come by, and a 21-point margin away from home is a genuine statement. It reflects a squad that is well-drilled, deep, and capable of controlling games in different ways. For Basquet Coruna, the challenge of competing in Spain's top division continues; games like this are a measure of the gap they are working to close.

What's Next

Zaragoza will look to carry this level of efficiency into their next fixtures, while Coruna will target a stronger shooting night and a more sustained defensive effort as they continue their league campaign.
