Palmer Basket produced one of their most convincing home performances of the season on Sunday evening, controlling Zamora from the second quarter onward to secure an 84–69 victory in Spain's Primera FEB. The win gives the islanders a valuable boost in the standings and extends their strong record in front of their own supporters.

Match Overview

Played at a lively home arena, the contest was billed as a test of two teams with contrasting styles: Palmer's patient half-court offense against Zamora's aggressive, transition-heavy approach. For 10 minutes the visitors looked the more comfortable side, but once the hosts settled into their defensive rotations, the game tilted firmly in their favor.

Palmer closed the first quarter with a narrow lead and then broke the game open before half-time with a 12–2 run, taking a double-digit advantage into the locker room. Zamora never recovered the momentum.

Quarter-by-Quarter

• Q1: Palmer 22–15 Zamora
• Q2: Palmer 21–18 Zamora
• Q3: Palmer 20–17 Zamora
• Q4: Palmer 21–19 Zamora
• Final: Palmer Basket 84–69 Zamora

Key Moments

The decisive stretch arrived midway through the second period. Trailing by four, Palmer went on a sustained run built on defensive stops rather than spectacular shot-making. Two steals in the backcourt turned into easy transition points, and a corner three from Marc Soler forced Zamora into a timeout they could not use to change the rhythm of the game.

Zamora briefly threatened in the third quarter, cutting the deficit to nine after a pair of second-chance baskets, but Palmer answered immediately with a 7–0 burst of their own. From that point the margin never dipped below double figures.

Tactical Story

Palmer's coaching staff made a clear decision to switch aggressively on every screen, daring Zamora's guards to beat them off the dribble. It worked: the visitors finished with a low shooting percentage from beyond the arc and were repeatedly forced into contested mid-range attempts late in the shot clock.

On offense, Palmer leaned on their interior passing. Pau Ferrer and Ivan Tomašević combined for a string of high-low actions that punished Zamora's help defense, and the guards consistently found the open man on the weak side. The rebounding battle was equally one-sided, with the hosts winning the boards comfortably and limiting second-chance opportunities.

Standout Performers

• Marc Soler dictated the tempo throughout, mixing pull-up jumpers with well-timed kick-outs to the perimeter.
• Pau Ferrer anchored the paint on both ends, protecting the rim and finishing efficiently around the basket.
• Ivan Tomašević was the game's most efficient scorer, thriving on the offensive glass and in the pick-and-roll.
• For Zamora, Álvaro Muñoz kept his team competitive in the first half, while Mamadou Diallo battled hard inside despite limited service.

Season Impact

For Palmer Basket, this is the kind of result that builds belief. A 15-point home win against a direct rival in the Primera FEB table strengthens their position in the playoff conversation and underlines their consistency at home. Their defensive efficiency in this game was among the best they have produced all year.

Zamora, meanwhile, leave with work to do. Their road form remains the biggest obstacle to climbing the standings, and the coaching staff will be concerned by the number of turnovers and the poor shooting night from the perimeter. The two clubs will meet again later in the campaign, and on this evidence, the rematch will carry real significance for both.
