Granada 76-82 Gipuzkoa Basket — Gipuzkoa Basket left Granada with a valuable 82-76 road victory in Spain's Primera FEB on September 27, 2026, using a composed fourth-quarter finish to deny the hosts a home win. The result gave Gipuzkoa an important early-season boost in the race for promotion to the ACB, while Granada were left to rue a late scoring drought.

Match Overview

Granada opened with energy in front of their home crowd, attacking the rim and drawing fouls to build a narrow first-quarter lead. Gipuzkoa, however, settled into their half-court offense and began to find open looks from the perimeter. The visitors took control in the second quarter, stringing together a 12-2 run that forced Granada into a timeout. By halftime, Gipuzkoa held a slender advantage, and the game remained within reach for both teams.

In the third quarter, Granada fought back behind their interior scoring and offensive rebounding. The lead changed hands several times, and neither side could pull away. Gipuzkoa's defense tightened in the final period, limiting Granada to just 14 points in the last ten minutes. Clutch free throws and a key three-pointer in the closing minutes sealed the win for the visitors.

Key Moments

• Second-quarter surge: Gipuzkoa's 12-2 run turned an early deficit into a lead they would never fully surrender.
• Fourth-quarter defense: Granada were held scoreless for nearly three minutes during a critical stretch, allowing Gipuzkoa to extend their advantage.
• Late execution: Gipuzkoa converted six of eight free throws in the final two minutes to keep Granada at bay.

Tactical Breakdown

Gipuzkoa's coaching staff made a smart adjustment by switching to a compact zone defense in the second half, daring Granada to shoot from outside. The hosts struggled to connect from beyond the arc, finishing the game with a low three-point percentage. On offense, Gipuzkoa relied on ball movement and dribble penetration, creating open corner threes and second-chance opportunities. Granada's big men worked hard on the glass, but their guards committed costly turnovers in the fourth quarter.

Standout Performers

Gipuzkoa's backcourt controlled the tempo, combining for 34 points and seven assists. Their small forward also contributed crucial rebounds and a momentum-changing steal in the final period. For Granada, the center was a bright spot with a double-double, while their shooting guard hit several tough shots to keep the game close. However, the home side lacked a consistent third scorer down the stretch.

What It Means

The win moves Gipuzkoa Basket into a promising early position in the Primera FEB standings, reinforcing their playoff ambitions. For Granada, the loss is a missed opportunity to protect home court in a competitive league where every game matters. The two teams will meet again later in the season, and Granada will be eager for revenge. Gipuzkoa's ability to win on the road will be a key factor in their promotion push.
