Movistar Estudiantes delivered a convincing road performance to beat Fibwi Palma 94-78 in Spain’s Primera FEB on 26 October 2026. A balanced offensive display and a decisive second-quarter run allowed Estudiantes to take control, while Fibwi Palma were left chasing the game for long stretches.

Match overview

Movistar Estudiantes started with purpose and led 26-20 after the first quarter. The visitors then broke the game open in the second period, outscoring Fibwi Palma 24-19 to take a 50-39 advantage into halftime. Fibwi improved after the interval, but Estudiantes answered every challenge, adding 22 points in the third and 22 more in the fourth to close out a 16-point win.

The scoreline reflected Estudiantes’ control of the paint and their ability to convert turnovers into quick points. Fibwi Palma had encouraging moments in front of their home support, but they could not string together enough defensive stops to seriously threaten the lead.

Key moments

The defining sequence arrived midway through the second quarter. With Estudiantes leading 31-27, the Madrid side produced a 12-0 run that silenced the home crowd and pushed the advantage to 43-27. Fibwi Palma responded with a short burst before halftime, but the damage had been done.

Fibwi briefly threatened in the third quarter, cutting the deficit to 61-56 after a run of their own. Estudiantes immediately restored order with a 13-2 response, combining three-point shooting with aggressive drives to the basket. That run effectively ended the home side’s hopes of a comeback.

Tactical story

Movistar Estudiantes controlled the rebounding battle and attacked the basket with consistency. Their guards dictated the pace, while the frontcourt provided second-chance opportunities and strong interior defense. Estudiantes also moved the ball well, finishing with a healthy assist total and punishing Fibwi’s help defense.

Fibwi Palma relied heavily on perimeter scoring, but their shooting cooled at key moments. They struggled to contain Estudiantes in transition and allowed too many easy looks after offensive rebounds. The home side’s turnover count also proved costly, giving Estudiantes extra possessions in a game where the visitors were already efficient.

Standout players

• Álex Llorca led Movistar Estudiantes with 18 points and 8 assists, orchestrating the offense throughout.
• Nicolás Richotti added 16 points, including several important three-pointers in the second-half response.
• Javi García top-scored for Fibwi Palma with 20 points and kept the home side within reach during the third quarter.
• Pau Cervera contributed 13 points and 7 rebounds for Fibwi, while Estudiantes’ bench provided valuable scoring depth.

Season impact

The victory reinforces Movistar Estudiantes’ ambitions in the Primera FEB and highlights their ability to win away from home with a balanced scoring effort. For Fibwi Palma, the defeat is a reminder of the level required against the division’s stronger sides. The Mallorca club will need to improve its defensive rebounding and second-half consistency as the season progresses.

Estudiantes will take confidence from a professional road display, while Fibwi Palma will look to regroup quickly and turn their home court into a more difficult place to visit.
