How Motilones closed it out

The fourth quarter was the difference. Capitanes Bogota made a run to cut into the lead, but Motilones del Norte responded with composed possessions and a pair of key defensive stops. Their late-game execution was the story: they protected the ball, attacked the right matchups, and made enough free throws to keep the visitors at arm’s length.

Capitanes Bogota will be frustrated by the result because they were within one possession for long stretches. Their effort on the offensive glass and their ability to force turnovers kept them alive, but they could not find the final bucket needed to complete the comeback.

Key moments and tactical story

Motilones del Norte’s half-court offense was at its best when the ball moved inside-out, creating open looks for their shooters. Defensively, they did a better job in the final five minutes of containing penetration and forcing Capitanes Bogota into contested shots. The visitors’ bench provided energy, but Motilones’ starting unit made the bigger plays late.

The tactical battle came down to pace. Capitanes Bogota wanted a faster game with more possessions; Motilones were content to slow things down and execute in the half court. In the end, the hosts’ control of tempo helped them close out a four-point win.

Standings impact

The victory gives Motilones del Norte an important result in the Liga de Baloncesto standings and reinforces their home form. For Capitanes Bogota, the narrow defeat is a tough one to absorb, but the performance showed they can compete on the road against a strong opponent.
