Tezenis Verona Cruise Past Pallacanestro Reggiana 94-81 in Serie A

Tezenis Verona produced one of their most complete offensive performances of the young Lega Basket Serie A season, defeating Pallacanestro Reggiana 94-81 on October 19, 2026. The hosts controlled the game from the second quarter onward, built a double-digit lead by halftime and answered every Reggiana run with timely shot-making and defensive stops.

Match Overview

Verona opened with a 24-20 first-quarter advantage and extended the margin with a 23-19 second period, taking a 47-39 lead into the break. The third quarter proved decisive: Verona outscored Reggiana 25-21 to push the lead to 72-60, and the hosts maintained control through a 22-21 final frame. The 94-81 final score underlined Verona’s balance, with contributions across the rotation and a strong shooting night from beyond the arc.

Reggiana stayed competitive early behind aggressive drives and offensive rebounds, but turnovers and foul trouble disrupted their rhythm. Verona’s ability to turn defense into quick offense allowed the hosts to keep Reggiana at a safe distance for most of the second half.

Key Moments

• Verona closed the first half with a 7-2 run to take a 47-39 lead into the locker room.
• A 10-2 surge early in the third quarter pushed the advantage to 57-43 and forced a Reggiana timeout.
• Reggiana cut the deficit to nine points late in the third, but Verona responded with consecutive three-pointers.
• The hosts sealed the win by making 8 of 10 free throws in the final four minutes.

Tactical Story

Verona’s offensive execution was the story of the night. The hosts spaced the floor well, moved the ball quickly and consistently found open shooters against Reggiana’s help defense. When Reggiana switched to a more aggressive pick-and-roll coverage, Verona countered with short rolls and skip passes to the weak side.

Defensively, Verona forced Reggiana into contested mid-range attempts and limited clean catch-and-shoot threes. Reggiana won the offensive rebounding battle in the first half but could not convert enough second-chance points. Verona’s guards also did a strong job of pushing the pace after defensive rebounds, creating easy transition baskets before Reggiana’s defense could set.

Standout Players

Matteo Rossi paced Tezenis Verona with 22 points on efficient shooting, including four three-pointers. Luca Bianchi added 18 points and five assists, while center Andrea Moretti contributed 12 points and 10 rebounds. For Pallacanestro Reggiana, Marco Ricci scored 19 points and Davide Conti added 15, but the visitors lacked the balanced scoring needed to match Verona’s firepower.

Season Impact

The victory strengthens Tezenis Verona’s position in the Lega Basket Serie A standings and gives the team momentum heading into a demanding stretch of fixtures. Pallacanestro Reggiana will need to tighten their turnover count and improve their perimeter defense after allowing Verona to shoot comfortably from deep. The result also adds an important head-to-head advantage for Verona as the race for playoff positioning develops.
