Ylli produced a strong road performance in the Superliga on October 17, 2026, defeating Vellaznimi 100-86. The visitors reached the century mark behind efficient scoring and a decisive third-quarter run, handing Vellaznimi a home defeat despite a competitive start.

Ylli’s decisive third-quarter run

The game was close through the opening stages, with Vellaznimi using home-court energy to stay within touch. Both teams traded baskets early, and Ylli’s advantage remained modest at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter followed a similar pattern, but Ylli began to find more rhythm offensively and took a seven-point lead into halftime.

The third quarter was where the game changed. Ylli opened the second half with a burst of scoring, combining perimeter shooting with aggressive drives to the basket. A 14-2 run stretched the lead and forced Vellaznimi into a timeout. The hosts responded with a few good possessions, but Ylli’s ball movement and transition scoring kept the momentum on their side.

Offensive efficiency from the visitors

Ylli’s 100-point total reflected a balanced and efficient offensive night. The visitors shared the ball well, attacked closeouts and took advantage of Vellaznimi’s defensive rotations. When Vellaznimi collapsed into the paint, Ylli found open shooters; when the hosts closed out hard, Ylli’s guards attacked the rim. That balance made the visitors difficult to defend for long stretches.

Vellaznimi had their moments, particularly when they played with pace and got into the open floor. However, defensive breakdowns and empty possessions allowed Ylli to maintain control. The home side kept competing into the fourth quarter, but Ylli’s lead never fell back into serious danger.

Key factors in the result

• Ylli’s third-quarter surge created separation and changed the complexion of the game.
• The visitors’ balanced scoring made them unpredictable in the half court.
• Vellaznimi struggled to string together defensive stops when the game tightened.
• Ylli’s transition offense punished the hosts for missed shots and turnovers.

Standout performers and season impact

Ylli’s backcourt controlled the tempo and consistently found ways to break down Vellaznimi’s defense. The visitors also received important contributions from their frontcourt, particularly on the offensive glass and in second-chance situations. Vellaznimi’s leading scorers kept the team within striking distance for much of the night, but the hosts lacked the defensive consistency needed to slow Ylli’s run.

The 100-86 win is a valuable result for Ylli in the Superliga standings and a clear statement of their offensive potential. For Vellaznimi, the defeat serves as a reminder that lapses against high-scoring opponents can quickly become decisive. Both teams will look to adjust as the season progresses, with Ylli aiming to build momentum and Vellaznimi focused on tightening their defense.
