KB Sigal Prishtina 82–88 Ylli: visitors spring Superliga upset in the capital

Ylli produced one of the standout results of the Superliga round, travelling to the capital and beating KB Sigal Prishtina 88–82 in a game that swung repeatedly before the visitors seized control in the third quarter. For a Prishtina side used to dictating terms at home, it was a frustrating night against an opponent that refused to be overawed.

The win is a significant one for Ylli's season, offering both points and proof that they can compete with the league's established powers on the road.

Match overview

Prishtina started brightly, feeding off the home crowd and attacking the rim with purpose. But Ylli absorbed the early pressure, kept the game close through the first quarter, and then gradually imposed their own style: quick ball movement, aggressive drives, and a willingness to shoot from deep when the opportunity appeared.

The third quarter proved decisive. Ylli outscored the hosts by seven in that period, turning a narrow deficit into a lead they protected with composure down the stretch. Prishtina's late push narrowed the gap but never fully erased it.

Key moments

With the game tied late in the third, Ylli rattled off a 9–0 run in under two minutes, capped by a three-pointer from the corner that silenced the home support. Prishtina called timeout, but the momentum had shifted irreversibly.

In the closing minutes, Prishtina cut the lead to four and had possession with a chance to make it a one-score game. A missed three and a defensive rebound from Ylli effectively ended the comeback, with the visitors converting at the line to seal it.

Standout performers

• Ylli's backcourt controlled the tempo in the second half, balancing scoring with smart decision-making.
• Ylli's rebounding effort on the offensive glass produced crucial second-chance points in the third quarter.
• Prishtina's leading scorers kept the hosts in contention, but the team's turnover count proved costly.

Superliga context

Prishtina remain one of the benchmark clubs in Kosovan basketball, with a trophy cabinet that makes them a target for every opponent. Defeats like this, while painful, are part of the challenge of being the hunted rather than the hunter. The coaching staff will focus on late-game execution and reducing the live-ball turnovers that Ylli converted so efficiently.

For Ylli, the result is a marker of ambition. Winning in Prishtina is difficult for any Superliga side, and doing so with a composed fourth quarter suggests a team capable of pushing for a high playoff seed. The head-to-head record between these two could matter a great deal when the season reaches its decisive phase.
