Nesibe Aydin Women produced a commanding road performance on Saturday, September 26, 2026, defeating Turgutlu Belediyespor Women 83-65 in the Turkish Women's Basketball Super League. The visitors controlled the game from the second quarter onward, using stifling defense and efficient transition offense to pull away for a statement win. It was a result that underlined Nesibe Aydin’s ambitions this season and left Turgutlu searching for answers on their home floor.

Match Overview

The game began at a frantic pace, with both teams trading baskets in the opening minutes. Turgutlu Belediyespor Women fed off the home crowd, knocking down two early three-pointers to take a brief 12-9 lead. But Nesibe Aydin responded with a 10-2 run of their own, forcing turnovers and turning them into easy points at the rim. The first quarter ended 22-18 in favor of the visitors, and from there, the momentum never really shifted back.

Nesibe Aydin’s defense tightened in the second quarter, holding Turgutlu to just 14 points while pouring in 24 of their own. The halftime score of 46-32 reflected the visitors’ dominance on the glass and their ability to get out in transition. Turgutlu’s half-court offense became stagnant, relying on contested mid-range shots that rarely found the bottom of the net.

Key Moments

• Second-quarter explosion: Nesibe Aydin opened the frame with an 11-0 run, fueled by three steals and two fast-break layups. The run turned a four-point lead into a 15-point cushion.
• Third-quarter resilience: Turgutlu briefly cut the deficit to 12 midway through the third, but Nesibe Aydin answered with a 7-0 spurt to restore control.
• Rebounding dominance: Nesibe Aydin out-rebounded Turgutlu 42-29, including 14 offensive boards that led to 17 second-chance points.
• Fourth-quarter cruise: With the lead never dipping below 16 in the final period, Nesibe Aydin emptied their bench in the closing minutes.

Tactical Story

Nesibe Aydin’s game plan was built on pressure and pace. They picked up full-court for stretches, forcing Turgutlu’s guards into hurried passes and contested dribbles. That pressure generated 18 turnovers, which Nesibe Aydin converted into 24 points. Offensively, they attacked the basket relentlessly, drawing fouls and getting to the free-throw line 22 times, making 18. Their half-court sets were simple but effective: high ball screens, quick decisions, and constant cutting.

Turgutlu Belediyespor Women struggled to find offensive consistency. They shot just 36% from the field and 28% from three-point range, often settling for long jumpers early in the shot clock. Their interior players were neutralized by Nesibe Aydin’s active help defense, and when they did get to the rim, they met resistance. The home side’s assist-to-turnover ratio was a major concern, finishing with 11 assists against 18 turnovers — a recipe for a lopsided defeat.

Standout Players

• Selin Kaya (Nesibe Aydin Women): 21 points, 6 assists, 4 steals. The point guard set the tone on both ends and was the engine behind the decisive second-quarter run.
• Brianna Lewis (Nesibe Aydin Women): 18 points, 12 rebounds, 3 blocks. A dominant two-way performance in the paint.
• Melis Gülcan (Turgutlu Belediyespor Women): 17 points, 7 rebounds. One of the few bright spots for the home team, battling throughout.
• Ayşe Demir (Turgutlu Belediyespor Women): 11 points, 5 assists, but struggled with five turnovers against Nesibe Aydin’s pressure.

Season Impact

This 83-65 win lifts Nesibe Aydin Women into a stronger position in the Turkish Women's Basketball Super League standings and sends a clear message to the rest of the competition. Their blend of defensive intensity and balanced scoring makes them a tough matchup, especially when their guards are dictating pace. For Turgutlu Belediyespor Women, the loss highlights the gap between them and the league’s top contenders. They will need to clean up their turnovers and find more efficient shot selection if they are to climb the table.

Nesibe Aydin now returns home with confidence high, while Turgutlu faces a crucial stretch of games to steady their season. In a league defined by fine margins, the visitors’ 18-point victory stands as one of the most convincing road performances of the early campaign — and a warning that Nesibe Aydin intends to be a factor all season long.
