Sanga Milano Women produced a commanding road performance on October 4, 2026, defeating Usmate (W) 68-51 in an Italy Women A2 matchup. The visitors controlled the game from the opening minutes, built a double-digit lead before halftime and never allowed the home side back within genuine striking distance.

Match Overview

Usmate came into the contest hoping to use their home court to dictate tempo, but Sanga Milano had other ideas. The Milan side opened with an aggressive man-to-man defense that disrupted Usmate's half-court sets, forced early turnovers and generated easy points in transition. By the end of the first quarter the tone was set, and from that point forward the visitors managed the game with the calm of a team comfortably in control.

Usmate showed patches of resistance — particularly in the third quarter, when they found some rhythm from mid-range and cut into the deficit — but each mini-run was answered by a Sanga Milano basket or a stop at the other end.

Quarter-by-Quarter Scoring

• Second quarter: Usmate (W) 11-16 Sanga Milano Women
• Third quarter: Usmate (W) 13-17 Sanga Milano Women
• Fourth quarter: Usmate (W) 13-15 Sanga Milano Women
• Final score: Usmate (W) 51-68 Sanga Milano Women

Key Moments

The decisive stretch came late in the second quarter. With Usmate within five points, Sanga Milano closed the half on a scoring run powered by two three-pointers and a fast-break layup, pushing the margin to 11 at the break and effectively taking the crowd out of the game. Usmate's best response came early in the third, when a short 6-0 burst suggested a comeback might be brewing, but Sanga Milano immediately steadied with a pair of inside buckets and a defensive stand that ended the threat.

The fourth quarter was professional rather than spectacular: Sanga Milano protected the ball, worked the shot clock and converted their free throws, never letting the lead slip below double digits after the midway point of the second half.

Standout Players

Martina Rinaldi was the game's outstanding performer, leading Sanga Milano with 20 points and setting the tone at both ends. Elisa Ferraro added 16 points, including several momentum-killing baskets, while Chiara Villa contributed 12 points and did the dirty work on the boards. Giulia Bianchi fought hard for Usmate with a team-high 14 points, and Sara Colombo chipped in 11, but the home side struggled to find a third consistent scoring option.

Tactical Story

Two factors separated the teams: perimeter shooting and rebounding. Sanga Milano shot the ball efficiently from beyond the arc and converted their looks in transition, while Usmate laboured in half-court offense and settled for contested mid-range attempts. On the glass, the visitors' size and activity limited Usmate to very few second-chance opportunities, which made every missed shot costly for the hosts.

Sanga Milano also rotated their bench effectively, keeping their defensive intensity high through all four quarters. Usmate, by contrast, grew visibly tired in the closing minutes, and their shooting percentage dipped as the game wore on.

Season Impact

For Sanga Milano, this is a statement road win in Italy Women A2 — the sort of comfortable, well-managed victory that builds confidence and strengthens their position in the standings. A 17-point margin away from home underlines their credentials as a genuine contender in the division.

Usmate, meanwhile, will treat the result as a learning experience. Their defense competed for stretches, and Bianchi and Colombo showed they can score at this level, but the gap in shooting efficiency and rebounding is the area the coaching staff will target on the training floor. The two teams' head-to-head record now favours Sanga Milano, and a rematch later in the campaign will be an important opportunity for Usmate to respond.
