Frascati (W) produced a dominant 100-56 victory over Alghero Women in Italy Women’s A2, delivering one of the most one-sided performances of the round. The visitors controlled the game from the opening quarter and never allowed Alghero to settle, combining aggressive defence with ruthless transition scoring.

Match overview

Frascati (W) came out with clear intent, pressing the ball, pushing the pace, and attacking the basket at every opportunity. Alghero Women tried to slow the game down and work through their half-court sets, but Frascati’s defensive pressure forced turnovers and rushed decisions. By the end of the first quarter, the visitors had already established a double-digit lead.

The pattern continued through the middle periods. Frascati shared the ball well, moved without it, and punished Alghero from both inside and beyond the arc. Alghero had moments of resistance, particularly when they attacked the offensive glass, but they could not sustain scoring runs or get enough stops to make the game competitive.

Quarter-by-quarter

• Q1: Alghero Women 14-28 Frascati (W)
• Q2: Alghero Women 15-24 Frascati (W)
• Q3: Alghero Women 13-25 Frascati (W)
• Q4: Alghero Women 14-23 Frascati (W)
• Final: Alghero Women 56-100 Frascati (W)

Frascati won every quarter by at least nine points and crossed the 20-point mark in three of the four periods. The 100-point total underlined their offensive efficiency, while Alghero’s 56 points reflected a difficult night against a defence that stayed connected and closed down driving lanes.

Key moments

The game was effectively decided in the first quarter. Frascati opened with a run of quick baskets in transition and forced Alghero into early turnovers. A timeout from the home side briefly steadied things, but Frascati answered with another surge before the end of the period.

Any hope of an Alghero comeback required a strong start to the second half. Instead, Frascati opened the third quarter with another run, stretching the lead beyond 30 points. From there, the visitors managed the game intelligently, rotating their bench and maintaining intensity without allowing Alghero to find easy points.

Standout performers

Frascati (W)’s performance was a collective offensive showcase. Their guards dictated tempo and found open teammates, while their forwards ran the floor and finished around the rim. The bench contributed significantly, ensuring there was no drop-off when substitutions were made. Defensively, Frascati’s rotations were sharp, and their rebounding limited Alghero’s second-chance opportunities.

Alghero Women had few bright spots on the scoreboard, but their effort remained visible. Their post players competed on the glass, and their guards continued to attack despite the deficit. The main issues were turnovers, poor shooting nights from the perimeter, and an inability to contain Frascati’s transition game.

League impact

The win is a significant statement for Frascati (W) in Italy Women’s A2. A 44-point margin boosts confidence and sends a warning to the rest of the competition about their offensive potential. For Alghero Women, the result is a tough learning experience, but the season offers opportunities to respond.

Frascati’s ability to score 100 points while holding an opponent to 56 will attract attention. It reflects a team that can punish mistakes and control games on both ends. Alghero will need to review their ball security and defensive transition, areas that proved costly in this matchup.

What’s next

Frascati (W) will look to carry the momentum into their next Italy Women’s A2 fixture, while Alghero Women will focus on regrouping and improving execution. In a league where confidence can shift quickly, Frascati’s dominant road win is one of the standout results of the round.
