Famila Wuber Schio Women earned an 82-73 road victory over Broni Women in Italian Lega Basket Serie A Women action, using a patient fourth-quarter push to separate from a stubborn home side. The final score underlined Schio’s greater composure in the closing minutes, while Broni could take encouragement from staying competitive for long stretches against one of the league’s stronger outfits.

Match overview

Schio set the tone early by attacking the basket and moving the ball sharply against Broni’s half-court defense. Broni responded with energy from the perimeter and kept the game within single digits for most of the first half. The visitors led by two at the main break, and neither team managed to build a truly comfortable advantage until the final quarter.

Key moments

The decisive passage arrived in the fourth quarter. After Broni trimmed the deficit to 63-61, Schio answered with a composed 9-0 run that changed the momentum of the game. The surge was built on defensive stops, quick transition opportunities, and a pair of timely outside shots that forced Broni to call timeout. Broni made one last push to cut the gap to seven, but Schio closed the game at the free-throw line and denied the hosts any late comeback rhythm.

Tactical story

Schio’s advantage came from balance. The visitors generated points inside and out, punished Broni’s help defense with extra passes, and controlled the defensive glass when it mattered. Broni tried to speed the game up with perimeter pressure, but Schio handled the ball well enough to avoid the turnover-heavy stretches that could have swung the result. In the half-court, Schio’s patience stood out: rather than forcing early shots, they repeatedly moved the ball until a cleaner look appeared.

Standout performers

Schio’s backcourt controlled the tempo and delivered several important baskets in the fourth quarter, while their interior players made life difficult for Broni around the rim. Broni’s leading scorer kept the hosts in contention with a gutsy shooting performance, and their forwards competed hard on the boards. The difference was Schio’s ability to find a reliable answer each time Broni threatened to turn the game into a one-possession contest.

What the result means

The win gives Famila Wuber Schio Women another valuable road result in the Lega Basket Serie A Women standings and reinforces their reputation as a team capable of winning in different styles. For Broni Women, the defeat is a reminder that small details — defensive rebounds, late-shot selection, and free throws — decide tight games. Broni showed enough fight to suggest they can compete, but Schio’s late execution proved decisive.
