Holon Woman produced a composed, professional home display on Monday night, beating Maccabi Ironi Ramat Gan Maccabi Raanana Women 74-56 in Israel Women's Premier League play. The hosts led for virtually the entire contest, combining sharp half-court execution with a defense that never allowed their opponents to settle.

Match Overview

From the opening tip, Holon looked the more organized side. Their ball movement created open looks early, and once the perimeter shots began to fall, the game tilted decisively in their favor. Ramat Gan/Raanana competed hard on the boards but could not match Holon's efficiency at the offensive end.

The 18-point final margin reflects a game that Holon controlled without ever needing a dramatic late surge. It was a workmanlike win built on defense, rebounding, and disciplined shot selection.

How the Game Unfolded

• First quarter: Holon established an early lead behind aggressive drives and second-chance opportunities, forcing the visitors to chase from the outset.
• Second quarter: The hosts extended their advantage with a balanced scoring attack, mixing inside scoring with timely three-point shooting.
• Third quarter: Ramat Gan/Raanana found some rhythm offensively but could not get the defensive stops needed to cut into the deficit.
• Fourth quarter: Holon closed out the game with mature clock management and strong free-throw shooting, keeping the margin comfortable.

Standout Performers

Holon's frontcourt set the tone, controlling the paint and converting around the rim while drawing fouls that put the visitors in early penalty trouble. Their guards complemented that interior work with steady decision-making, limiting turnovers and finding open teammates in transition.

For Ramat Gan/Raanana, there were positive moments — some energetic defensive sequences and a few confident individual scoring plays — but the team's shooting went cold in key stretches, and against a Holon side this efficient, cold spells are costly.

The Tactical Story

Two numbers shaped this result: rebounding and turnovers. Holon won the battle on the glass, generating extra possessions that translated directly into points, and they protected the ball well enough to deny their opponents easy transition baskets.

Defensively, Holon's ability to contest shots without over-helping kept Ramat Gan/Raanana's shooters off balance. The visitors were forced into late-clock attempts far more often than they would have liked, and their field-goal percentage suffered as a result.

Season and Standings Impact

The victory adds valuable momentum to Holon's season and reinforces their credentials as a side capable of competing for a strong league position. Home wins of this nature — comfortable, controlled, and low-risk — are exactly what separates playoff contenders from the rest of the pack.

For Ramat Gan/Raanana, the loss is a learning opportunity. Their schedule remains demanding, and the response in the coming fixtures will say a lot about their resilience.
