Bnei Herzliya Beat Ironi Nes Ziona 103-96 in High-Scoring Ligat HaAl Clash

Bnei Herzliya produced one of the more entertaining offensive performances of the Ligat HaAl round, defeating Ironi Nes Ziona 103-96 on October 19, 2026. The visitors’ 103-point night was built on balanced scoring, sharp perimeter shooting, and a decisive third-quarter run that turned a tight game into a lead they would not surrender.

Ironi Nes Ziona scored 96 points themselves and remained competitive for long stretches, but they could not match Bnei Herzliya’s efficiency in the second half. The game featured quick possessions, aggressive pick-and-roll play, and several lead changes before Bnei Herzliya pulled away down the stretch.

Ironi Nes Ziona found success inside and drew fouls, while Bnei Herzliya answered with three-point shooting and transition baskets. Bnei Herzliya held a 27-24 lead after the first period, but Ironi Nes Ziona responded in the second to make it a one-point game at halftime.

The third quarter proved decisive. Bnei Herzliya tightened its defense, forced Ironi Nes Ziona into several rushed attempts, and converted those stops into quick points at the other end. A 26-20 advantage in the period gave the visitors a cushion, and although Ironi Nes Ziona kept scoring in the fourth, Bnei Herzliya always had an answer.

Key Moments

Midway through the third quarter, Bnei Herzliya put together the game’s most important run. A pair of three-pointers stretched the lead, and a steal led to an uncontested layup that forced Ironi Nes Ziona to call timeout. The home side responded with a mini-run of its own, but Bnei Herzliya’s ball movement and shot selection kept the momentum from fully shifting.

In the closing minutes, Ironi Nes Ziona cut the deficit to five points and had possession with a chance to make it a one-possession game. Bnei Herzliya came up with a crucial defensive stop, then converted at the other end to restore control. From there, the visitors made enough free throws to keep the game out of reach, securing a valuable road win in the Ligat HaAl.

Tactical Story

Bnei Herzliya’s offense was at its best when the ball moved quickly from side to side. The team used pick-and-roll actions to draw help defenders and then found open shooters on the perimeter. When Ironi Nes Ziona switched defensively, Bnei Herzliya attacked the mismatch inside or used a quick dribble handoff to create space. The result was a balanced scoring attack that kept the home defense guessing.

Ironi Nes Ziona stayed in the game by attacking the rim and getting to the free-throw line. Their guards applied pressure in transition and their big men worked the offensive glass. However, the home side’s defense struggled to contain Bnei Herzliya’s perimeter shooting in the third quarter, and that proved to be the difference in a game where both teams scored at a high rate.

Standout Performers

Bnei Herzliya’s backcourt set the tone with efficient shooting and smart decision-making, while the frontcourt contributed important rebounds and interior scoring. The bench also provided a spark, helping the visitors maintain their pace and defensive intensity when starters rested. It was a complete team performance, with multiple players hitting double figures and contributing to the 103-point total.

Ironi Nes Ziona had strong individual efforts in the loss. Their guards created offense off the dribble and kept the team within striking distance, while the interior players battled on the boards. The home side’s 96 points would normally be enough to win many games, but Bnei Herzliya’s third-quarter surge and late execution proved too much.

What the Result Means

The win strengthens Bnei Herzliya’s position in the Ligat HaAl standings and gives the team confidence on the road. For Ironi Nes Ziona, the loss is a frustrating one because the offense performed well enough to compete, but the defensive lapses in the third quarter were costly. The result adds another high-scoring chapter to the rivalry and underlines how important defensive stops are in a league where teams can score quickly.
