Hapoel Tel Aviv Dominate Hapoel Beer Sheva 95-82 in Ligat HaAl Clash

Hapoel Tel Aviv delivered a statement performance in Ligat HaAl, defeating Hapoel Beer Sheva 95-82 on the road behind a fluent offensive display and a decisive second-half run. The 13-point margin understates the control the visitors exerted after halftime, when they repeatedly broke Beer Sheva's defense with quick ball movement and efficient shot selection.

It is the kind of result expected from a Tel Aviv side with ambitions at the top of the Israeli league, and one that leaves Beer Sheva searching for answers on the defensive end despite a spirited offensive showing.

Match Overview

The first quarter was fast and competitive. Beer Sheva fed off their home crowd, knocking down perimeter shots and attacking the rim with confidence. Hapoel Tel Aviv matched them basket for basket, using their size advantage inside to generate second-chance points and free throws.

The second quarter brought separation. Tel Aviv increased their defensive pressure, forcing turnovers and turning them into transition baskets. A late flurry before halftime gave the visitors a lead they would protect and expand.

Key Moments

• End of first half: Tel Aviv closed the second quarter with a run to take a double-digit advantage into the break, shifting the momentum permanently.
• Third-quarter execution: Crisp half-court offense and disciplined defense extended the lead, with Beer Sheva unable to string together stops.
• Beer Sheva's response: A fourth-quarter scoring burst brought the deficit back into single digits briefly, but Tel Aviv answered with a three-pointer and a pair of free throws.
• Glass control: Tel Aviv's rebounding advantage limited Beer Sheva's second-chance opportunities and closed the door on any late comeback.

Tactical Story

Hapoel Tel Aviv's offense was built on pace and spacing. They pushed the ball after made baskets, attacked mismatches in the pick-and-roll and consistently found shooters in rhythm. Defensively, they switched screens and used their length to contest shots, forcing Beer Sheva into contested jumpers and difficult finishes over size.

Beer Sheva's best moments came when they played through their guards and attacked the paint, drawing fouls and creating open looks for shooters. But their defensive rebounding and transition defense let them down, and against a team as efficient as Tel Aviv those weaknesses are punished quickly.

Standout Performers

Tel Aviv's backcourt dictated the game, combining scoring and playmaking while limiting costly turnovers. Their interior players dominated the boards and finished efficiently around the rim. Beer Sheva's leading scorers produced a respectable output, but the team's defensive effort could not match Tel Aviv's offensive precision over four quarters.

What It Means for the Season

For Hapoel Tel Aviv, this is exactly the type of road win that builds championship credentials in Ligat HaAl: efficient offense, disciplined defense and no let-up in the fourth quarter. Hapoel Beer Sheva leave with a clear diagnostic of their season so far — they can score with anyone, but their defensive consistency will determine whether they climb the standings or settle into the middle of the table. The return fixture promises to be an intriguing test of how much Beer Sheva can adjust.
