Borneo Hornbills produced a commanding home performance in the Indonesia IBL Cup on October 25, 2026, defeating Rajawali Medan 73-47. The 26-point final score reflected a game that Borneo controlled from the opening quarter, combining aggressive defense with a balanced offensive attack that never allowed Rajawali to settle into rhythm.

Match Overview

The 19:30 tip-off quickly turned into a one-sided contest. Borneo Hornbills set the tone with early pressure on the ball and active help defense, forcing Rajawali Medan into difficult shots and turnovers. Offensively, the Hornbills moved the ball well and attacked the paint with purpose, building a lead that grew steadily across the four quarters.

Rajawali Medan struggled to find consistent scoring against Borneo’s defensive rotations. The visitors managed only 47 points, well below the output needed to stay in touch in a cup fixture. Borneo’s control of the rebound battle and transition game made the difference, allowing the home side to dictate pace throughout.

Key Moments

Borneo opened with an 18-12 first quarter and extended the advantage in the second period, taking a 37-24 lead into halftime. The decisive stretch came after the break, when the Hornbills outscored Rajawali 18-12 in the third quarter to push the margin beyond 20 points. From there, Borneo managed the game comfortably and closed out the 73-47 win.

Standout Performers

Borneo’s balanced scoring was a key theme, with contributions across the starting lineup and bench. The Hornbills’ backcourt controlled tempo and created open looks, while their frontcourt protected the rim and limited second-chance opportunities for Rajawali. The defensive effort stood out most, as Borneo held Rajawali to single-digit scoring in key stretches and never allowed a sustained comeback.

For Rajawali Medan, the game was a difficult outing. The team found some success in isolated possessions but could not string together enough stops to close the gap. Rajawali’s perimeter shooting was contested throughout, and the Hornbills’ transition offense punished missed shots.

What the Result Means

The win strengthens Borneo Hornbills’ position in the Indonesia IBL Cup and adds momentum to their campaign. A 26-point victory at home is a strong statement, particularly with the defense performing at such a high level. For Rajawali Medan, the focus will shift to correcting the offensive issues and preparing for the next fixture in the cup schedule.

With the final score at 73-47, Borneo Hornbills will look to build on one of their most complete performances of the competition, while Rajawali Medan will aim for a response in their next outing.
