Haukar delivered a statement performance in the Iceland Basketball Division 1, dismantling Fjolnir 111-83 on the road on October 17, 2026. The visitors dominated from the opening tip, using relentless fast-break basketball and accurate three-point shooting to turn the game into a rout by the third quarter.

Match Overview

Fjolnir had no answer for Haukar’s pace. Haukar scored 30 points in the first quarter alone and never allowed the home side to settle into a half-court rhythm. The lead ballooned to 18 by halftime and 25 by the end of the third. Haukar’s bench emptied late, but the intensity never dropped, and they finished with a season-high point total.

Quarter-by-Quarter

• First quarter: Fjolnir 18, Haukar 30
• Second quarter: Fjolnir 22, Haukar 28
• Third quarter: Fjolnir 20, Haukar 27
• Fourth quarter: Fjolnir 23, Haukar 26
• Final score: Fjolnir 83, Haukar 111

Key Moments

The game was effectively decided in the first eight minutes. Haukar opened with a 15-4 run, forcing Fjolnir into two early timeouts. Every time Fjolnir tried to press, Haukar beat it with long outlet passes and corner threes. A 12-0 run midway through the second quarter pushed the lead past 20, and Fjolnir never recovered. The fourth quarter was played at a lower intensity, but Haukar still managed to extend their advantage.

Standout Performances

Haukar’s balance was remarkable: six players scored in double figures, led by their shooting guard with 22 points. The point guard added 18 points and 10 assists, while the forward duo combined for 31 points and 15 rebounds. Haukar shot 14-of-31 from three-point range and scored 24 fast-break points. For Fjolnir, the top scorer had 21 points, but the team committed 22 turnovers and shot just 38% from the field.

What It Means

Haukar’s blowout win sends a clear message to the rest of Iceland Basketball Division 1: they are a serious promotion contender with the depth and firepower to win on the road. Fjolnir, meanwhile, must address their transition defense and ball security after a disappointing home defeat. The head-to-head result gives Haukar an early advantage, and if both teams are in the promotion mix later in the season, this margin could prove significant.
