Match Overview

In a matchup between two teams with playoff aspirations, Grindavik relied on their interior scoring and clutch free-throw shooting to secure the win. The hosts shot 51% from the field and made 22 of 26 free throws, while Stjarnan were left to rue 15 turnovers and a cold stretch from beyond the arc in the fourth quarter. The victory improves Grindavik to 2-2 on the season, while Stjarnan fall to 2-2 after a second consecutive narrow defeat.

Stjarnan, known for their three-point shooting, went just 8-of-28 from beyond the arc and were forced into difficult mid-range shots by Grindavik's aggressive closeouts. The hosts also benefited from a strong bench performance, with reserves contributing 22 points compared to just 9 for Stjarnan's bench.
