Key moments

The decisive stretch came early in the third quarter, when Csata strung together consecutive defensive stops and converted them into quick points at the other end. That run forced MTK-Budapest to chase the game, and the home side’s offense became more predictable as the pressure increased. Csata’s guards did a strong job of controlling the pace, while the frontcourt battled on the glass to deny second-chance opportunities.

MTK-Budapest made a brief push in the fourth quarter, but Csata’s composure in the final five minutes stood out. The visitors protected their lead with smart shot selection and free throws, never allowing the game to slip back into a one-possession contest.

Tactical story

FCSM Csata (W) won this game with defense and rebounding. The team limited MTK-Budapest’s clean perimeter looks and forced difficult mid-range attempts late in the shot clock. Offensively, Csata used dribble penetration to collapse the defense before kicking the ball to open shooters or feeding the post. That balance made the visitors hard to guard over the final 20 minutes.

MTK-Budapest’s half-court offense showed promise in the first half, but turnovers and missed second-chance opportunities hurt the home side after the break. The loss leaves MTK-Budapest looking for more consistency on both ends, especially in third quarters.

Season impact

The road win strengthens FCSM Csata’s position in the Hungary Women’s Div.A standings and gives the team momentum for the next stretch of fixtures. For MTK-Budapest (W), the 57-71 result is a reminder that competing for four quarters against a disciplined opponent is essential in a league where home advantage can disappear quickly.
